    Good location, out of town centre but easily accessible especially if weather suits a walk through Bute Park. Freindly but not over fussy staff, good menu selection with good Brains beer

    Too many prats who thought the white car-park lines were to be used as centre-lines when dumping their cars ;-((

    Liked having a "suite" at a very reasonable price - when one of us did our middle-of-the-night routine there was somewhere to go! Very comfortable firm bed and good, controlable heating

    TV a bit on the blink and decor rather tired.

    Price; location -easy walk to city centre, close to public transport and park; good breakfast

    Small room; rather shabby and run down; little niggles like no toilet paper in room; disorganised breakfast - kept running out of things so had several small courses as food arrived at different times

    "This hotel is not being run efficiently through indifferent management. It needs a decent manager fast before the hotel is in deep trouble. There is plenty of potential with situation and building - what a wasted opportunity. We would not choose to stay there again or recommend it to friends unless we knew it was improved, which is a pity as we stay in cardiff regularly." (107866648)

    Spacious car park, convenient location, moderate price, helpful reception staff and breakfast staff particularly on the Monday morning

    Little sign of hotel management and inexperienced young staff left without support to do the best they could, routine maintence desperately needed in some areas particularly bathrooms, bar staff not competent when takings orders for food and drink - also charged against wrong rooms, Our room was disappointing in that it had no outlook - just a roof and as we booked three months previously this did not seem a fair allocation

    Room very small, although furnishing was fine and very clean. Staff courteous and friendly with the very noticeable exception of reception staff.

    Check - in process very poor. No one at reception and no one answered the phone. I was ignored by a passing member of staff. When eventually attended, the young lad appeared very bored by the process and was not friendly or welcoming. No offer to help me to my room up two floors with a large suitcase.

    Overall a good value for money hotel. Very friendly staff. A hotel with character. Good food too.

    Only one minor point that we should have really mentioned to hotel staff before our departure but we were in a hurry and never did. The bathroom fan was extremely noisy and even when light had been switched off, the fan continued for another 20 minutes or more.

    Meals from the bar are good and cheap.

    Singe room (Rm 16?) facing the road is very noisy, with a toilet extractor that comes on without warning. Both interfere with sleep. Double room (Rm 21) is much better in terms of noise, but has a shower with water that's too hot (and can only be used by a short person, as the ceiling above the shower slopes downwards).

    Hotel was faily good

    The room no 10 was next to a vent which woke me up in the middle of the night. There was also a intermediate knocking noise which was noisier in the day.

    I had diner in the hotel and the food was fantastic. Plenty of choice for breakfast

    Room was small and quite warm. I managed to open the window but it wouldn't stay open & I had to jam it open with a cup. The window sill was very dirty.

    the staff were friendly and helpful. the room was adequate and clean as was the bathroom

    the quality of the breakfast was poor at £115 per room i expected to have my breakfast served to me on a hot plate instead i found cold plates and self service, upon asking for a coffee i was invited to help myself from the perculator. the window in my room was ill fitting and the noise from the very busy road kept me awake most of the night.

    "Was ok but the bed was poor even squeaked when I breathed. The couple in the next room their's squeaked too. Was peed off that the bar closed so early on a Saturday night. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Short walk to the Stadium (20mins)." (107740554)

    Nice clean hotel, close the Millennium Stadium.

    Id been out to the Millennium Stadium, not had a drink allday and was shocked to find the hotel bar would not serve me a drink at 11:40pm on a Saturday night. The bed was really squeaky.

    The hotel was lovely and the staff were very welcoming and helpful, as we had bikes with us we were offered a cottage instead of a room in the hotel at no extra cost and this was very helpful. Our stay was very nice and we will recommend the hotel to friends.

    There were no bad points everything was very good.

    The bar and food at the hotel was of a good standard, well kept and the staff in this area were very helpful.

    The hotel was a little overpriced considering the standard of service. The staff were very standoffish and not particularly welcoming. The room could have been cleaner and the tea making facilites in the room did not appear suitable for use (I didn't risk it). The breakfast was a buffet style and not always as hot or as freshly made as I would expect in a hotel of this type.

    Nice Mews cottage, easy check in, nice bar in hotel, close to town centre, nice breakfast choices

    Too hot, room had cobwebs in corners in places, no cold drinks facility in room, breakfast items not refreshed regularely, no tea and coffee when we arrived for breakfast at 9.20 even though told it was seved until 10 and 'hot' buffet food was warm at best cold at worst.

    Waiter who served our evening meal was rude, he inisisted we all moved our own plates towards him, he left the drinks in a pile on the side of the table (table of 6 people, eating a 3 course meal). He also served drinks and was unhelpful then too.

    "Overall we had a fantastic couple of days. The hotel was very clean and comfortable and the staff very friendly. We were within walking distance of town but also able to use the local bus service which stops not far from the hotel" (107786738)

    We were made to feel very welcome during our stay and the staff were very accomodating and friendly

    There was a little confusion over whether or not meals were being served before 6pm but when we did get the meal, it was delicious although we felt that the bar man on duty was a little brusque in his manner, the complete opposite to how the rest of the staff had treated us.

    Cheerful, friendly and helpful reception staff

    Service at breakfast- could not find a table to sit at as they had not been cleared. Had to ask for cutlery, cups, hot water , milk etc. Hot buffett had hardly anything on it and queues waiting for stuff to be replenished which probably was not helped by fact that there were only two members of staff working. This was a great shame as this let the hotel down.

    Hotel was clean, with very friendly/helpful staff

    Location was a little difficult to find, should have taken our sat nav.
