"i would like to say very much that we had a lovely experience but that would be a lie. we spent the second night in a premier inn where a good nights sleep is guaranteed and was £30 cheaper too. It would have been nice if the hotelier had been honest and said that although we had booked a family room, that my family would not be able to sleep in it. i obviously would not have gone there, but at least i would have had the choice. it cost me £95.00 per night including breakfast, to wish i was in my own home." the room (family room) was a beautiful room, really well presented and quite large. the food in the restaurant was quite nice, and the breakfast was very good.
there is no welcome when you get to the Swan Inn. it is almost like the staff have never had guests to stay before. however the bar staff seemed nice. We ate in the restaurant but had to wait around 1 hour for our meals of burgers and chips and a meal of pasta and meatballs to arrive and there was only 3 tables of 2 - 4 guests at each. There was a live band and disco on which i read on the wall is every friday and saturday night. the music was so loud and the bass was so high that it made our beds vibrate, - honestly. it honestly was like the disco was in our room. the disco carried on until 1.00 am without any let up. the noise was horrendous and it was totally impossible to sleep. the next morning, there was no one around when we arrived for breakfast, however the cleaner was very hospitable. She made us a hot drink, showed us where to find breakfast cereal and even took our hot food order. She asked us if we had had a good night. She was the only person who actually acknowledged us as guests. She popped her head in the kitchen and told the lady cooking breakfast that 'your guests are here for breakfast' indicating that we were the only guests. When we had arrived we were asked to pay for the 2 nights we had booked in for, which we did. However when my husband asked for a refund of the 2nd nights stay for which we could not stay due to the noise levels in our room we were offered no appology, and the woman said she was unable to do refunds. Eventually a cash arrangement was agreed. and to add insult to injury i couldnt make a hot drink as the kettle was absolutley filthy.

We love Ironbridge. Pleasant bar and restaurant.
Booking out and breakfast very disorganised. No wall mounted shower
