    "Strange bed arrangement which was two twin beds pushed together but made up with double bed bedlinen .. why ? Seems like the hotel was very nice to stay at in its early days but overall quality has been left to slide downhill. I would look else next time. " (108318576)

    Peaceful location with nice countryside views.

    The shower/wash room was by far too small and had no soap or shampoo. The extractor fan was not working and was stuck open so a very cold draught entered the bathroom. The restaurant food quality was poor.

    Clean room, excellent and attentive staff, good home cooking, quiet. Great breakfast.

    accomadation clean staff friendly

    cooker old and worn. could not see heat settings on hob dials no grill tray. no shelves or cubords in bathroom

    The staff were great, very friendly, very helpful and very polite.

    The only downside was the size of the bathroom.

    "The weather let things down for our stay - but we'll come back during finer weather (hopefully), and for more than one night, as the place has the potential for a nice quiet stay in a pretty good location for many Norfolk attractions." (108484393)

    all staff were very friendly. Nice to see some locals frequenting the bar too - nice sense of community. Good evening menu choice and reasonable prices (but see bad points too). Breakfast service was good, plenty of choice.

    Evening meal - all portions were WAY too large - I heard several other people make the same remark. They could have halved the portions and you'd have still had a decent meal... Cleanliness - overall fine, but the hoover/duster hadn't found all the nooks & crannies (including inside walk-in wardrobe) - once you noticed one bit, you noticed quite a bit more! Overnight - an alarm panel outside our door decided to emit a high pitched noise from 3am onwards (still going when we left at 9.30), and there was no (apparent) night service to call. Lost a lot of sleep as a result...

    Staff were very friendly, food excellent, lovely location.

    Cottage pleasant but felt a bit dated. Couple of occasions in restaurants when our orders were misunderstood resulting in incorrect food/drinks being served.

    Lovely setting and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times. Food was great so an all round good experience; we would re-book this hotel for any future requirements in the area.

    Would have liked a bath!!!

    "For a general stay OK, but not for a romantic weekend." (108021223)

    Staff very friendly and helpful. Room was well equiped. Good location.

    Mattress was very hard so didn't sleep as well as liked. Room lacked character considering it was an old mill. If want to have a meal in the restaurant would have to book in advance don't leave till last minute.

    Quality of the food, stunning views from the room

    Service tended to be a bit on the slow side, insufficient staff in the evening and also at breakfast for the number of people staying there.

    This accommodation was supposed to be a 4 star hotel. If we had been staying longer than one night we wouldn't have been happy. The website which is what we based our booking on was nice looking, flat screen tv etc. The room was clean and tidy but very dated, with carpet in the bathroom which personally makes me cringe!

    Comfortable,quiet, economical. Restaurant provides good portions at good quality, has good selection and at reasonable price, although breakfast standard is not as high as the other meals. Friendly, helpful staff.
