    The staff is helpful and friendly. The place is very clean.

    The huge round sofa may be too big to put right in front of the door to the lobby. Guests lying on it may not be so pleasant to look at!!

    Very good hotel,centrally located and close to the railway station. The staff were also friendly. The rooms were clean, very well decorated and relaxing.

    The safe did not work which I reported. They sent the engineer to repair it but it broke again the next day. When I reported it again, the engineer was not called. Also, I was billed for room service which I did not order. I had to query this twice to get a result.

    Clean, well organised hotel. Reception area spacious and light. Views of Cathedral and Castle on hill above bedrooms. Restaurant good.

    Management in Reception took a long time to respond when several guests arrived together. Only one desk was staffed with receptionist seriously overloaded. Many staff came and went while guests became impatient.

    1.Roomservice food/crockery left out in passage for over 4 hrs 2. Passage carpets filthy throughout stay 3.Beds just pulled up, foot end not even tucked in and with previous occupants bod hair still in sheets 4.Previous occupants spent chewing gum still on bathroom floor. 5. Breakfast unappetizing and poorly presented

    The hotel was clean, modern, stylish and was perfectly located for walking into the city centre. The room was light, airy and comfortable. Loved the pool facilities.

    Great position, very clean, lovely room, great leisure facilities!

    We struggled to hear the man on reception, as he spoke very quietly. He failed to tell us about the leisure facilities, so we had to seek them out ourselves. The TV in our room kept playing up, but as we weren't in our room for too long, this wasn't really a problem. Could be annoying though!

    Clean hotel, good health club facilities.

    Asked for early check in and waited at hotel 3 hours from 9.30am till 12.30am to check in. Would have been nice if I had response to request for early check in if it wasn't possible rather than spend 3 hours waiting.

    "I cannot fault the hotel on anything. The facilities were marvellous, spotless and the staff were so friendly. We arrived early and got our room immediately, we were able to leave our luggage and return for it later on our day of departure. The Filini restaurant was excellent for both dinner and breakfast."     A Good experience, however I inadvertently forgot my email reservation confirmation and the booking had not been registered. Mercifully I got the very last available room- the receptionist was sympathetic and sorted it out.

    See above! A quickie cut-price breakfast would've been appreciated.

    ", HAVING STAYED AT THE COUNTY HOTEL MANY TIMES WHILE VISITING RELATIVES IN DURHAM, WE WERE PLEASED TO HAVE A CREDIBLE ALTERNATIVE, UNFORTUNATELY OUR STAY DID NOT MATCH OUR EXPECTATIONS.WE ALWAYS HAD A SATISFACTORY STAY AT THE COUNTY.I REALISE THAT YOUR HOTEL IS NEW AND YOU WILL GET EVERYTHING GET TOGETHER" (107307548)

    LIFT TRICKY TO OPERATE, REQUIRED SOME INFO FROM RECEPTION.PAYMENT OF CAR PARK,HEATING IN BEDROOM NOT OPERATING, I NOW HAD A REPLY FROM HOTEL TO SAY THE NEXT DAY IT WAS WORKING FINE, IF THIS WAS THE CASE WHY COULD A MEMBER OF YOUR STAFF NOT OPERATE IT THE NIGHT WE REPORTED IT FAULTYAND OFFER US AN ADDITIONAL DUFET FOR THE BED, THAT NIGHT IT WAS VERY COLD AND MADE THE STAY IN THE ROOM UNCOMFRTABLE TO COLD TO SHOWER AND VERY COLD GETTING OUT OF BED THE FOLLOWING MORNING.
