  "Quiet. good value for the money though basic accomodation. Good breakfast. Located close to where we wanted to be. Some nice restaurants close by (would highly recommend the Wild Elephant Thai restuarant. " (108278121)

  "I might stay here again if only to see how things progress. I would certainly not have retained my booking if I had been staying more than one night." (108348178)

  In house staff were super! Breakfast was very good. The lady (housekeeper) in residence did her best to make us feel welcome and explained why the obvious deficiencies were there. The room and dining room were very clean and no bad smells or unwarranted noise in the hotel.

  We were asked to phone to confirm our booking. The hotel owner allowed his (apparently) very young child to answer the phone and continue with the conversation - very unprofessional. The building itself was being cleaned (in depth) by the housekeeper as when she could make the time. She seemed largely unaided by any investment from the hotel owner. The experience was one of participating of a work in (very slow and poorly funded) progress.

  the hotel was good, the member of staff was excellent, bubbly personality, made myself and daughter feel welcome.

  "Good. We were taking daughter to University and hotel was close to hand which made things easy to deal with. Staff were helpful." (108383190)

  Staff at hotel were friendly and gave a warm welcome.

  Linen was rather thread bare and had holes in some instance - towels

  room very clean .staff very friendly and helpful

  carpet leading to bedrooms very dirty almost a total put off.Would need to do something about this.

  Actually i was v. impressed on my stay in four season &i found every thing in discipline and supervision from the guestess & the supervisor to whom i'm so grateful.

  "I slept with my clothes on and was drunk enough after the rugby that I could have been in a box under a bridge and wouldn't have known any better!" (107998437)

  It was cheaper than anything else on offer.

  The staff were rude, the decor was hideous, the toilet stank and there were bits of pubic hair in the shower and sink.

  one 64 year lady can not run a hotel on her own,the owner charged more for the room than was on the booking summary,and would not take my visa,i had to pay cash wich left me with no money,he did tell me were a cash mchine was,that's not the kind of hotel you want to use again.one unhappy hotel guest

  "was booked in and shown to our room very effishintley and although it was the girls first day in the job she went hunting and found a bottle opener for our drink what a life saver over all the hotel was clean and tidy and the staff very helpfull would use this hotel again" (107204568)

  "adequate for purpose and need for closeness to friends place of stay.Staff very helpful. Would prefer to see property before booking from this experience. As we are in the hospitality industry we do know what constitutes high standards and value." (107183699)

  helpful staff, good location near shops, transport,city, reasonable price

  not value for money compared to other places used in Scotland, no cooked breakfast, poor bathroom in terms of decor, not luxury. Outside signage needs tidying up

  Booking process on-line

  the 'total' price shown is not the price you pay. The 'total' price is only for 2 adults and additional adults/children are charged at £30pppn. The member of staff checking us in was very rude and argumentative. She phoned her boss whilst we were checking in to say she wouldn't be back in the morning and there would be no breakfast available. We decided to stay elsewhere.
