    Good size comfortable room and very personal attention from the owners.

    The room was clean and tidy and the bathroom was a good size except for the sloping floor

    The welcome was somewhat dubious - and if you like very late night revellers under your window until 3.50am then this is the Inn for you. The noise and language from the revellers (not all guests at the Inn) left a lot to be desired.

    "The staff were very good and moved my daughter to a disabled room on the first night, which was excellent. The second night they also moved my wife,my sister-in-law and me to two other rooms which were also excellent. This was all at no additional cost. Overall the stay was good and only marred by the cottage. People should be made aware that the cottage is sub-standard accomodation at the time of booking, and not 3 star like the rest of the rooms.     The main rooms were very good. Food was excellent and staff very ameniable.

    We booked the cottage. This was terrible. It did not really accomodate 6, there were only two rooms. The stairs were very narrow with no handrail or light. Food was left in cupboards and Fridge. Dishwasher and Microwave had not been cleaned. The bunk bed mattress was dirty. Some ligtbulbs were missing and others were inadequate wattage. Plugs were cracked and dangerous. There was no key to the back door. Overall it was completely unsuitable and was not even 1 star rating. (see review)

    "Although the room was for the most part comfortable, quiet and satisfactory (but it could probably be quite noisy if the outdoor area were to be used by pub drinkers at the weekend) the total impression of the hotel for us was not good. The place was, in our view, poorly run, generally untidy and needed a thorough 'spring clean'. " (107521802)

    Large bed room and bathroom tastefully decorated. Plenty of hot water although shower temperature hard to regulate. No shampoo provided and only one small cake of soap.

    We stayed two nights and the bed was not remade nor was the room/bathroom tidied between the two nights. Breakfast room a disgrace from every point of view i.e. poorly appointed and furnished, supervision negligible (we had to go across the yard (thankfully it was not raining) to the main building to get any service which included replacement of foodstuffs, water, coffee powder etc. which had run out), and general untidiness which seemed not to bother the owner/manager. Some crockery items had residue of previous meals on them due to not having been cleaned properly. The cooked breakfast was adequate quantity wise but poorly presented - the scrambled egg, for instance, was hard and rubbery to the extent of being virtually inedible. (The poor culinary standard we experienced induced us not to return for an evening meal but to seek one elsewhere).

    Management were welcoming and eager to please. Food was good. My request for Cranberry juice at breakfast was dealt with.

    I think more attention should be placed on the managing of the breakfast room; provision of crockery was a tad haphazard.

    "Disappointing. Bar open 24 hours, drinkers noisy & inconsiderate. Fight Saturday night - beer glasses thrown, broken glass all over staircase leading to bedrooms. Police called at 4.00 am. 2nd fight Sunday night. Bar staff drinking while serving. Breakfast not ready Monday am - "girl had not turned up". Had to wait over an hour for breakfast. On Monday morning saw dirty plates & cutlery used Sunday night for evening meals still in kitchen not washed up." (107803972)

    Were given choice of rooms

    Landlord was unaware of our arrival. Broken bed in room. One room unclean. Bar open 24 hours. Beds not made during day. Complimentary tea & coffee not replenished.

    "Staff were very helpful and organised taxis to get us from the hotel to the wedding we were attending. The rooms are basic but clean and tidy and far preferable to the last holiday inn I stayed in. As well as our group there were families and a few elderly people staying in the hotel. All members of our party thought the stay was great value for money." (107350899)

    "Would not hesitate to stay there again if we are in the area. The new management are making an effort to make visitors feel welcome. We feel we got exactly what we paid for a good old country inn. It was an excellent base for touring north Norfolk villages and coast. Then in the evening relaxing in the bar with the local people after a nicely presented meal. " (107652427)

    For a country inn it was just what we were looking for character, history,friendly,good food,(Breakfast and evening meals) nice clean comfortable room,made to feel very welcome by staff and locals. Value for money.

    Shower wasnt too easy to regulate but other than that no problems.
