    "A very good, value for money hotel." (108405667)

    Very friendly helpful staff, warm welcoming environment, good, value for money accomodation and meals

    Hotel did not open until 8a.m. on saturday rather than 7.30 during the week. I had to be at a meeting at 8.30 and this caused a little inconvenience.

    We really enjoyed our stay. Very good welcome, despite the fact that our booking hadn't been forwarded on to the hotel from the booking agency. However, room was available . Excellent room and staff. Will be back.

    The only fault was that the shower didn't drain quickly enough and overflowed. Were offered a change of room, however, but we stayed put. Not really a great inconvenience.

    "A welcome change from the faceless chain hotels. Refurbishment work ongoing but was in no way obtrusive. Bar meal in the evening was of good gastropub standard and promptly served. Breakfast was served in lovely dining room overlooking the river. Nice to have a range of newspapers available. Hard to see how any profit is made on the food - the servings at both dinner and breakfast can only be described as gargantuan! All in all, a brief but enjoyable stay." (107681589)

    Easy to find. Ample parking. Stunning riverside setting in pretty village. Very clean and comfortable room with all the facilities one would expect. Wi-Fi Hotspot was advertised as being available in public rooms but in fact was accessible in the bedroom and connection was without problems. Helpful staff. Incredibly good value for money.

    Shower creme dispenser in en-suite was empty - minor point. Unlined curtains made for an early awakening.

    Excellent food & service

    Only one chair in room even though plenty of space to fit two chairs. Windows need painting - they let down the overall impression with black mould.

    Excellent food,very nice bedrooms and the grounds of the hotel were kept lovely. Would be lovely to stay here when the weather is better given the setting.

    Staff were very helpful and cheerful.Rooms were away from the main hotel(across a courtyard) and would therefore be quiet if there was a loud party in the main hotel.Full breakfast really was a FULL breakfast.On the other hand individual requests were no trouble.

    Because of some steps in the old part of the hotel, it is not really suitable for anyone who is wheelchair-bound.

    Not much else in immediate vicinity (no shop/pubs/restaurants). Need to use car to get to anything else.

    The booking process was easy, the staff at the hotel were very polite, smart and friendly. The food was very good and the room was clean and comfortable.

    We found the Staff very polite and helpful.The hotel has a lovely relaxed atmosphere, is full of character, clean and in a fabulous setting. Our evening meal and breakfast were superb.
