    "What would have been a great stay was marred by the abscence of a front door key on the keyring resulting in being locked out of the hotel in the rain from when we returned at 00.30 am until 04.30 when a member of staff turned up with the key to let us (by now soaking wet) in. " (108728392)

    Friendly Staff, good food and comfortable room.

    On street parking, but no permits available, had to keep popping out every two hours to change disk. Lack of iron in room.

    The room was nice and on the top floor with an excellent view of Richmond. Couldn't hear any noise from the bar.

    The entrance to the pub was a bit mucky and smelt and the check in process was slow as we had to wait at the bar behind drinking customers as it is a pub with rooms above. Breakfast was a bit early on the Sunday morning.

    "staff friendly and polite,did the job for us, clean and fairly comfortable.let down slightly by the above points.we had to cancel one room and found some confusion regarding cut off time eg exactly when is latest time to cancel.if it is 12.00 midnight the day before then it needs to be stated clearly.surcharge that hotel charge also needs to be stated.we sorted it out amicably with staff."     clean and tidy,decent view,storage space ok, tea making , tv etc all fine

    minor niggles eg cold tap insecure, shower rose taped up repair so no vertical adjustment,single bed soggy mattress

    The cooked breakfast was good

    Mould in shower room, no soap, no heating in bathroom. Single size room with double bed in. The booking was not as per our internet booking and no food after 4pm and we had to check out on a sunday by 10.30am

    "Very disappointed for the money we had paid. We were told that the hotel was in the process of being updated. It certainly needed it! We couldn't wait to move on to our next hotel!" (107676417)

    Nice breakfast.

    General cleanliness of rooms, no shower gel or shampoo in bathroom. Sink outside the bathroom in the bedroom. Very poor lighting in bedroom - at one point the lighting went out altogether and we had to move the bed out to get to a cupboard which contained the trip switch for the electricity! No hairdryer. Dirty toothbrush found in cupboard under the sink. One room was very tiny with very little room to put anything. Towels had seen better days. When we were having breakfast, towels were hung over the radiators drying in the same room.

    "An old fashioned 'Hotel' which really now rates as a Bed & Breakfast come bedsit. For this price I'd stay further out to get better standards and drive the difference. " (107571585)

    It was well located for the town.

    Noise and fighting outside hotel / pub front (mid week!) until 0100am not helped by this being the 'smoking' point (park the car elsewhere). Electric shower near to useless with low water pressure. No toiletries. No rails to hang damp towels on. No extractor fan. Room seemed to be equipped with nothing stronger than 40W bulbs which I suppose hid the dust and cobwebs. Door yale lock hanging on by the 2 remaining screws of the 3 holes. Internet?
