    Good breakfast. Comfortable bed. Clean, modern bathroom. Friendly staff.

    No central heating in room. Noisy fan heater given as alternative. Public areas of hotel not as clean as rooms e.g. very sticky bar tables Restaurant closed midweek

    Staff were very friendly, hotel was lovely and the bar area had a lovely atmosphere.

    Shower was fab - had a huge showerhead.

    It wasnt a room, it was a cupboard. There was no dressing table so made getting ready to go out on the evening very difficult. The hotel was a £8 taxi ride from Princes Street.

    "I have worked in some of the top hotels in the world and this place is The worst hotel i have ever had the displeasure to stay in.. Go to a B&B, the staff would not be amateurs and you would be far better off. " (107820240)

    The Shower head was nice, Though not central it was within 20mins walking distance to the castle.

    Paid upfront £210 for 2 nights compared to Ibis at £114 for 2 nights. Cover sheets had semen and chocolate stains on them. The room was badly cleaned. Smells from the kitchen came into the room. Toilet was mounted too high off the floor. Really tight with soaps and extras. Tv was mounted too high and was old and had only 5 channels. Did not have breakfast 2 days running as waitress was too busy doing her hair and eating her own food. Gave up trying to order lunch as fire alarm went off for 5 minutes and waitress never came back. Left key on desk on our exit as no one was at reception or in the restaurant. Could not wait to leave. My impression is one of ignorance, incompetence and unprofessionalism. I would be suprised if the hotel made it through recession.

    No dressing room table, room very small, all windows frosted over no view felt very closed in, bath room full of mould and tiles falling off.

    "very small room, dirty carpet, shower screen broken, tv remote missing, tv broken, no teaspoons, only 1 cup, no milk, noisy fridge, no desk, no bedside tables, no shower gel or shampoo, no bin in room, bathroom smelt unpleasant, basin plug broken, noisy fan, dead bulbs in light fitting, no inside lock or bolt for room door, no fire instructions, can't fill kettle under tap (too big), that's about enough.     The hotel bar area was clean and inviting.

    The room was extremely small. There was no room to walk around the bed. The chandalier was stuck to the ceiling with MDF and the coffee/tea making facilities were in the bottom of the wardrobe. We were not offered coffee with breakfast.

    very clean and nice modern decor. nice friendly lady on check in.

    rooms on booking site had pics of a sitting area with a couch, a bit disappointed when we realised we didnt have this. said bathrobes on request we requested but still never got them!

    pleasant and courteous member of staff working at breakfast

    Rooms very small (not as they appear to be on internet photos) rooms and public areas unclean.People sitting on stairs while trying to get to our rooms. Very, very noisy. thumping music til 3am coming from downstairs (private function) and very noisy in corridors. Continental Breakfast - Uncovered cold meat and uncovered bread. Cartons of juice and cartons of milk (no jugs)

    "We had a fantastic time here. Funky little place with comfortable rooms, friendly staff and attentive, personable service. We came here after staying at a more expensive, higher rated hotel and much preferred our stay here. " (107990386)
