    "Inital impression disappointing,grubby carpets and peeling wallpaper, however hotel was clean, bed comfortable and sheets and towels immaculate. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was generous. When I reported that I could not get the tv to work and the reading light needed a bulb the owner promptly fixed matters and offered me a drink in the bar as compensation.     The manager was very welcoming and quick to rectify minor problems

    General decor of hotel oldfashioned and tired. New carpets and wallpaper would greatly improve ambience

    thought the cottage was amazing, very big and great facilities.

    there were no tea or coffee in it which i thought there should be because they had kettle and everything else.

    All the staff were friendly and very efficient. The rooms were good for the price range and very good value. the evening meal was excellent, far better than previously been served in higher price range hotels.

    "Food and service at the hotel was good, accomodation a bit dated, hotel's own restaurant where we ate in the evening was excellent, I believe this had recently been taken over by a new proprietor." (107470720)

    Although the hotel itself was pretty old and tatty, the restaurant and food was excellent.

    Right next to the railway station and level crossing, opposite two pubs and a social club, was unable to get to sleep until 4'o'clock in the morning due to all night revellers.

    "For the price this was quite an adequate hotel. I think it is more of a guest house than a hotel. It was a saturday night and facing onto the road, there was quite a lot of noise from late night drunks. Still not bad. Basic but adequate." (107734799)

    Easy booking. Food reasonable cost, and nice ambiance in bar. Quality of food was good. Bar prices not bad at all. Good breakfast with friendly chef

    Room clean but quite small. Radio looked tatty. Staff could have been a bit friendlier

    Hotel superbly located by railway station. Breakfast very well cooked and served in spacious comfortable dining room. In bedroom skylight let in fresh air on a hot day very welcome.

    Bar closed on the dot of 11.00pm. Too early. Nobody at reception when we checked out at 9.30am so we had to leave the keys outside the (locked) reception door. For security, it might be an idea to have a covered box with posting hole in top for keys to be dropped into, when there is nobody at reception.

    good central location and good value when you just want somewhere to put your head down for the night whilst you visit relatives

    the booking process was misleading as it takes your credit card details and you think the room is already paid for but it's only taken for reservation and you pay at the time of departure. It caused a bit of embarrassment in the morning as I was walking out just waving goodbye.

    Food was nice - tasty and good portion. The restaurant area was actually refurbished and looked nice.

    Too many to individually mention. Bathroom was way too small. Sink was actually in bedroom. Room had some new fittings but much was very old. Standard of wallpaper/carpet/curtains was poor. The whole place smelt musty. The kettle had some sort of slime inside - I had to rinse it before I dare make a drink. No broadband facilities either!
