    "A very calm and enjoyable stay." (108471190)

    The reception staff were both efficiant and helpfull, all the other staff we encountered were of the same high quality. The veiw from the room was stunning and worth the stay alone.

    If there were any they went unnoticed.

    Superb location, right by cathedral, with free parking in the precincts. Clean, obviously well run, polite helpful staff.

    Didn't find any - though some might not like the cathedral bells (but they were there first!)

    The location was excellent within the Cathedral grounds with walking distance to the town centre.

    Directions to the Hotel were not good enough. It made our journey very frustrating, and even tempting to turn around and go home.

    Excellent location. Clean. Helpful and friendly staff. Free parking. Nice sized rooms. Free internet.

    Shower cubicle a little small. Booked a double bed - which turned out to be 2 singles bolted together, with only a double duvet which didn't quite stretch far enough to cover 2 people, and a gap in the middle between the two mattresses. (However this was quickly changed back to two single beds when requested.) Limited choice for breakfast - some bread rolls would have been nice in addition to the bread for toasting.

    The setting is magnificent. The library very relaxing and well stocked. The staff were very helpful, courteous and kind. The dining room staff, polite and helpful.

    The shower drain clogged and before we knew it the water leaked through the floor to the room below. The staff immediately worked to correct the problem. They were very kind to us and worked hard to make sure we were taken care of as well as the leak and the people below us.

    Room cleaning - move beds! No glasses - plastic cups not renewed after first night.

    "Hotel was very clean and although the room was quite small, it had everything that you needed and was very comfortable. The location is very good- directly opposite the cathedral and just a minute or so walk from the shops/ restaurants etc. My husband was a little disappointed that there was not a cooked breakfast. However, we couldn't really fault the hotel and we would recommend it. " (108935890)

    Wonderful to be in cathedral precincts and able to enter through the little gate and shut out the noisy night life and see the cathedral by night, floodlit. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Room fine, great view, and windows that open, hurrah!

    Breakfast a bit boring but perfectly adequate.

    Lovely location next to Canterbury Cathedral. Good view from the window. Quiet at night.

    We got a double bed when we booked a twin . We didn't sleep very well in the double bed. The breakfast was continental but seemed quite limited.

    "Lovely place to stay and particularly at night seeing the Cathedral lit up at night from the bedroom window. The lodge garden was a lovely place to sit in and reflect,very peaceful." (108886429)

    The breakfast was extremely adequate and well laid out.

    Not a bad point, but I did find the mattress a little too soft but that is mainly because I suffer with a bad back and have a firm mattress at home.

    Very nicely furnished / equipped rooms - if a little small, but no problem for 1 night. Location and security great. Breakfast room and library lovely.

    Room was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and finished to a high standard.The shower was very powerful.The hotel was very quiet at night. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The Campanile garden was beautiful and there was a free pass for the cathedral.

    Although a hairdryer was provided and wired in underneath the mirror there was nowhere near the mirror to plug in a styling brush etc.

    Excellent facilities. Very convenient to be within the Cathedral precincts. Bedroom very comfortable.

    Would have appreciated an evening meal. Breakfast was very good but supplies were not topped up fast enough.

If you want a nice / largish room and/or intend to spend much time in the room other than for sleeping, worth looking elsewhere. Would I/we go back next time we're in Canterbury - yes, definitely.     The stuff is very friendly and the rooms with their view are wonderful.

    It not easy to book a room online when you are travelling with children. It is not possible to give a cross to the point for the age of the children and to tell in which room the children should stay

    Booking over the Internet was quick and easy. The website for the hotel is informative and easy to navigate. The hotel was clean and comfortable. Good centeral location

    From start to finish a superb experience. Staff were as helpful as could be the whole time. The place is quiet, clean and very well appointed. Breakfast was great, free Wifi was great, couldn't fault a thing.

    No bad points at all (and that's the first time I've ever said that).
