room not ready until 21/2hours after check in no lift and no offer of help with luggage poor state of decoration in bedroom uncomfortably hot in bedroom very slow service at dinner

Nice and cosy hotel facing the Promenade. I like the Victorian-style decoration in the living room and the dining room.
There is no elevator in the hotel and the room is rather small.

TV IN SECOND ROOM NOT WORKING PROPERLY PROMISED REPLACEMENT DIDNT ARRIVE, ROOM 4 POOR, BAD OUTLOOK.

Good location on the sea front
There was a big issue when I said I wanted to eat in the restaurant as I was told they were extremely busy with a table of 7 booked for 7.30pm. I wanted to eat at 7.00pm. There was also a lot of shouting from the kitchen when it was discovered that nobody had purchased any potatoes. The shouting was very loud and was easily heard by guests. It took over 35minutes to get breakfast in the morning

Sea view was excellent. Meals well presented.
Overpriced. Run down atmosphere. Bar service un-professional. Dining room service very poor. (We were the only two diners, table not fully laid, wine was 'forgotten', infestation of wild fruit flies with one finally drowning in my wine glass). A poor American waiting 10 mins at the bar for anyone to appeare to serve him. Etc.
