  "The hotel actually overshadowed our stay in Northumbria as the weather turned on our second day and was quite extreme. The hotel has no communial seating areas to relax and feel cosy in. Very disappointing." (108500301)

  Food was very good.

  Room was sub standard and not as described or shown on the web.

  "We could have stayed in a travelodge or similar and had a better bedroom at half the price. The only things that saved the visit were the food and the view from the bedroom. I will NOT be reccomending this as a hotel to anyone." (107981377)

  The food was excellent.

  The room was poorly presented, twin beds pushed against the walls, which are coated with an extremely abrasive surface. Light fitting was far too bright for a bedroom. Wardrobe full of what appeared to be spare bedding leaving no space for shoes etc. Drawers came apart when opened, furniture was generally flimsy. Bathroom, despite being "refurbished" appeared unfinished, with inadequate shelf space, especially in the microscopic shower.

  "Much too expensive for the quality of facilities and service offered; trades too much on its location" (107511199)

  Stunning views; accepted dog, although internet booking service had not informed owner of this specific requirement

  Cold, poorly equipped room, with basic decoration and fittings; electric shock from table lamp; dinner much too expensive for the quality; casual, disinterested, staff - altogether a cheerless experience
