  "We arrived after a long journey of over 6 hours at 5:45pm and telephoned the number on the door in order to get the keys. We were told by the lady on the phone that there had been no bookings made and that no rooms were made up for us. We had our booking confirmation but this seemed to make no difference as we were told that Active hotels who we booked through had not actually passed on our booking. We explained we had other friends arriving who had also booked. We were offered a room in Coldstream but this was miles away from where we needed to be for the wedding in Duns so we declined this. The owner arrived a couple of hours later to make up the beds and thanked us for being understanding. We were told it clearly stated on the website that we must telephone in advance however I have searched for this information and there is nothing to say this. The website clearly states: Our instant, online booking service is fast, convenient and secure. We keep our availability up-to-the-minute so you can book your hotel online with complete confidence. You may book as many rooms as you like for any dates that you need. Once you have made your reservation, you will receive confirmation by email with our details and directions - all you need to do is turn up! I personally suggest you definitely telephone a day or more in advance and be prepared as it is likely you will be asked to stay in Coldstream as a fellow guest who stayed at the same time as us was also asked. Duns is quite a noisy and busy town which did not bother me but if you are looking for a peaceful location this hotel may not be for you. There was a nice wine bar and a lovely Thai restaurant in the square. " (107690900)

  Close to the venue that we were visiting. Large bedroom. Good size fridge and freezer and suitable kitchen. Friendly and busy location. Spacious interior.

  No hot water after 10am. The television in the bedroom did not work, it had no ariel lead. The upstairs shower did not turn on. It was expensive. Lack of loo paper so best to take your own. You must telephone before you arrive.

  "It was convenient for us to stay at this hostel because it was so close to the wedding venue, however,the owner didn't have the booking and tried to make us stay in another B&B 6 miles away, the kitchen was filthy and hot water was in short supply." (107947766)

  Close to wedding venue and church. It's in the centre of the village and so close to shops and a good thai restaurant. Comfortable room.

  The owner didn't have our booking. Kitchen was filthy. One shower failed to work. Hot water only provided first thing in the morning.

  didnt get a chance to find out

  the owner of this property called me days before my stay and asked me to stay at another property miles away form the wedding i was attending in duns as she had secured another booking.just because you book months in advance dont bank on staying there if they get a better offer.
