    "We enjoyed out break" (108519522)

    Friendly informal atmosphere, food good particularly breakfast

    Staff seemed at times to be more concerned with time deadlines rather than on the customers needs, we were told on three occasions that "we are about to clear up or we weren't expecting anyone else." This is poor practice even when the overall atmosphere is friendly.

    The staff were cheerful, friendly and caring. The food at breakfast was very good. Our suitcase was carried to the room and on leaving to the car. Great views from the bedroom window over the Firth of Forth.

    No lift - stairs are difficult for disabled 79 year olds like us!

    A friendly environment providing spacious and quality accommodation in a superb location. The breakfast was superb and included in the price.

    No major points - a little dated however it was spotlessly clean

    "Pleasant stay overall. The rooms do need updating, they are just a bit too old fashioned and dated but they were clean enough. Bad points were no shampoo in bathrooms - should be small bottles - not the large shower gel bottle we had!" (107323060)

    Breakfast was first class and lots of it Bottled water in rooms

    Dated, old fashioned decor of rooms. No shampoo in bathroom, just a bottle of shower gel.

    Friendly and helpful staff. Food was average. Sea view and bridge was very good.

    Rather far from the town centre. The sea front pub half-mile away is the nearest call place. The overall atmosphere can be improved somehow, make it a happy hotel to stay in. everybody seemed very quiet and the guests wispered even to their own children. It needs livening up a bit.

    Excellent food, wine and service. Very helpful and courteous staff. A very beautiful setting.

    Crumbs in the drawers of the dressing table and a rather uncomfortable bed. A later Sunday breakfast availability after a long and tiring day at a Saturday wedding would have been appreciated. Tennents lager and a wider screen television in the lounge would have been a real bonus.

    Very comfortable room. Friendly staff, very obliging. Good location for visiting Edinburgh and Fife. Good view over Firth of Forth.

    Food too heavy,though fairly good. Would have liked lighter, healthier choices eg fresh fruit at breakfast and for dessert. Better vegetable dishes.

    I was made very welcome from checking in up until departure, even though I was only staying for one night. The room was loely & clean, & the bed was comfortable. There was also a choice for breakfast & evening meal where it was cooked on ordering of the meal, which was very well cooked. really enjoyed my stay & would recommend to anyone staying in this area. Very nice scenery as well.
