    Good location. Lady serving breakfast was really helpful and friendly. She was very apologetic about our problems.

    Parking isn't readily available as advertised. Had to change rooms as 1st one we were put in wasn't cleaned. Painters working in the next door room very noisy and working until 11:00 at night. Drunk resident woke us at 12:15am knocking on all the doors and yelling out.

    General appearance of hotel was very run-down - in need of renovation (painting). Very noisy due to taxis from adjacent night club not mentioned on web site. Car park not secure - part of Dominos pizza take away.

    "Fair. The problems were not the hotel's fault but would put us off returning to stay in Londonderry. Think we visited at a particularly bad time with the Apprentice Boys' parade heightening tensions." (108033404)

    Friendly service. Central location. Off street parking. Very good breakfast for the budget price.The staff in the hotel were friendly and helpful.

    Noises in the night - compressor nearby going on and off? Off-putting high security in neighbourhood Also a great deal of rubbish in the streets and from adjoining takeaway.

    Just wonderful all round staff couldnt do enough for you the pub was also excellent felt like a local. Breakfast was the biggest ive ever had on my travels and that included missing out voluntary on two items.

    Staff was friendly, room was comfortable, food was delicious and location of the hotel was convenient for sight-seeing and trips out of Derry.

    Car parking area was a bit crowded and hard to get into at peak times during afternoon.

    "not an hotel but rather a guest house-breakfast was excellent the shower was useless in the room and despite profuse apology at check out obviously it was too late then-things like this should be checked properly before each letting???? Soulless atmosphere pervaded the whole place. Great deal of traffic noise from busy street junction immediately outside" (97401722)

    slightly off hand check in process which had to be commenced in the bar area of this establishment--young man slightly off hand and not professional at check in---room was not ready at 2 pm and there was a general air of rush and fuss.

    "even with ear plugs there was not a lot of sleep to be had. the pub next door was full of men watching football. Only one channel on tv the tv plug broken and dangerous looking. carpet had quite a lot of stains." (97808901)

    "I would have no hesitation in staying at the Iona again. Although my stay was brief I felt very comfortable and relaxed. The room was of a very high standard and the staff were friendly and helpful." (97110979)

    The room was very spacious and had a high standard of cleanliness with an excellent view of Londonderry city centre.

    The entrance to the hotel was closed when I arrived to check in.I had to go to the public bar to find someone to allow me in. This was not a major inconvenience and when I found the person I was looking for he was very courtious and helpful.

    Bad reception on the TV and loosely attached door handles/toilet seat the only things in an otherwise excellent stay.

    "Location of Iona House was across the river from the main part of the city so you had the opportunity to stay in the busy city till late or go back to the Inn where the locals were very friendly and treated you like one of the locals. Taxis only cost a couple of pounds to anywhere in the city. Would definitely go back to Derry and Iona House" (97200846)

If you take what's on offer at face value then you won't be disappointed. the rooms are comfortable and roomy and the breakfast is cooked freshly to order. The staff are friendly and willing to help.     TV's volume control in the room didn't work; broken hinge on one window the general noise after the pubs shut from the street.

    "We had a good stay at the Iona inn, for the price it was fairly good. As it was situated just outside the city we were able to park very close by which was important to us.The staff were friendly and very helpful, the freshly cooked breakfast with plenty of choice was most appreciated. Although there was a certain amount of noise from doors banging it was fairly peaceful as it was on a busy road. There was a nice walk into the city from the hotel." (97772566)

    the breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice, it was all freshly cooked.The staff were very helpful. The location was pretty good and there was parking very close by.The room was clean and fairly comfortable.

    the accomodation would benifit from some updating as it was a little tired,it was also a bit noisy as the fire doors all seemed to bang shut.

    The manager(owner) and his staff were extremely friendly & helpful, the accommodation clean& spacious.Breakfasts excellent. Location a little noisy (from the road)but ideal for visiting Derry, within walking distance of all attractions in the city (5-10mins)

    "This is a good basic accomodation. The staff were very helpful and friendly. There is no restaurant although a decent breakfast was provided. The staff recommended a number of possibilities for evening meals. The city centre is 5 to 10 minutes walk across a bridge over the River Foyle, OK if weather fine but maybe not so much fun if raining. The railway station is very close but the bus station is on the other side of the river and about a 10 minute walk. For someone on a budget this would be a good choice." (99068951)
