    Nice shower

    Too hot even with thermostat turned right off. Evening food was good price but very bad quality. Breakfast was dirty and hairy. I needed to take out a second mortgage to pay for my carparking for 2 days, the discount was not even worth doing as it was sooooo little. £20 per night BE AWARE. With discount it was £14?!?!?!?! Might as well pay the same and stay in a 4* with free parking!!

    Friendly, well trained and helpful staff. Enjoyable food. Pleasant surroundings with surprisingly no noise from the airport. Very good access for the NEC and airport

    Smoking allowed on certain floors. Beds too hard. Parking expensive.

    Very convenient, easily located and secure room available for luggage outside check-in times.

    Non-smoking room not available although booking made well in advance.

    THe hotel was clean and very accesible from Birmingham International Train Station, however it would help if directions to get to the hotel were a little more specific, ie the availability of the airport monorail and then directions from the departures area at the airport

    No real bad points but I left with some concern about the fact that they had lost my checking in form, (overnight?) with which they had used my credit card as a guarantee. This was to have been cancelled and the amount for the stay actually debited. They were a little dismissive of my concerns and said that it would not be a problem. With credit card fraud being a very curreny topic I left more than a little uncomfortable with the situation.

    "Basic facuilitiues with basic amenities, convenient for airport and NEC. I have stayed a better Ibis hotels and not a patch on the Thistle chain, which are probably comparable in price with discounts that are available. Very basic and made for the one night stop over. overall puit me off the Ibis chain, where I hav4 stayed extensively in the past" (108737842)

    Good Food reasonable prices, though cooked brekfast cold

    Bed uncomfortable, room too hot the air conditioning did not work and the television wasn't bright enough to watch Harry Potter film, (many dark scenes)

    The breakfast, the staff.

    1. Checkout took 30 mins with queue 2. No bin in room apart from bathroom 3. It clearly stated on my book that buffet breakfast was included yet the staff argued endlessly that that was only a continental breakfast and I should pay more despite having a printed copy with me

    Everything very clean and staff very efficient and knowledgeable. Food good and good value.

    The restaurant part of the hotel was way too small for the number of guests. We did have to wait a short while for a table. Suggest making the area on the right of the entrance door into part of the restaurant. Would have liked two towels in the bathroom, not just one.

    Very pleased with accommodation and friendliness of staff. Evening meal was also excellent.

    details on the booking form regarding breakfast were very confusing; parking also confusing - we parked across the road and were told by hotel staff that as long as we stayed for over 24 hours we would get the parking charge reduced from £18.50 to £13.50 once we had our parking ticket stamped by the hotel. At the NCP offices they tried to charge us £37 as we had gone over the 24 hours which we understood from the hotel staff was permitted. Eventually NCP agreed to re-issue the ticket and charge us the agreed £13.50 but they were quick to point out that the error was with the Ibis which I agree with and would suggest that you make it very clear to customers that the charge is for a '24' hour period, if that is the case, and not as long as you stay over '24' hours you will only pay £13.50

    proximity to exhibtion centre and airport

    soap dispenser in shower was empty. food was ok but not great. could not make irish coffee. room was comfortable if basic and expensive for what it was.
