    Pleasant location and easy to find. Excellent breakfast and packed lunch. Very friendly and helpful staff.

    We were lucky but parking could possibly be difficult at peak season. We could not get the TV to work and so printed, idiot proof instructions should be provided for the guests.

    Good sized room; attractive view of village and surounding countryside; good quality breakfast; friendly staff

    On third floor but not a problem for us.

    "If you like quaint old pubs and do not expect a 5-star hotel, this is a lovely place. The hosts really do all they can to make you feel welcom and comfortable. We are four males travelling together and occupied all four rooms, they are certainly different and if you are more than six feet tall, opt for the double with the king size bed - here the room is about normal height - in the others significantly lower, but that just adds to the atmosphere. Be prepared to go into Sidmouth for dinner as they only cook at weekends, but bar is down-to-earth nice and stocks all the normal things and a few real ales. You just feel you are in a true village pub! Bus connections into Sidmouth are good with the last bus returning from Sidmouth at 2345, so its possible to spend the whole evening there. A taxi from Sidmouth was 12 pounds. If we are in the area again, we will go back!" (107769805)

    "Quaint room with low ceiling not for 6 ft tall person otherwise comfortable Opposite ancient church clock sounds the hours but felt all part of the rural experience.Busy road through village Easy access to Sidmouth with regular bus stopping opposite the Inn" (107870512)

    only the stairs that were very steep for young and elderly,also no high chairs.

    well looked after and flexible approach to our, very coformtable stay.

    I prefer a shower in the bathroom, but I beleive this is being addressed in the next few days.

    "Very enjoyable stay. Excellent home cooked food." (107864602)

    Owners were very friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. Suitcases were carried from the car, up and down the stairs and back to the car. Food was excellent - we also ate there in the evenings.

    Not enough parking spaces outside - had to use a public car park a distance away. Stairs are very steep.

    Very friendly owners who knew the area. Our visit was to further research our ancestors who lived in Sidbury in the 18oo's. A brother of one of the ancestors, Mr Darke actually ran the Red Lion Inn.

    Nice owners -friendly and helpful Breakfast good

    Dreadful room - it was damp and dusty and hadnt seen a lick of paint in years. The double mattress was impossible to sleep on and I ended up swapping beds with my son - and slept on a campbed . The plumbing in the room was dreadful and the water didnt run away in the sink and there was no shower. The heating didnt work and we were freezing during the night --- do you need any more points ?
