  "In a word - excellent, the best hotel I have stayed in for many years." (108597298)

  Clean, comfortable hotel, excellent food served on hot plates - very important! Background music in restaurant/bar area generally pleasant. I hate pop music and find it very irritating in most restaurants and pubs.

  Confusion over the charge for breakfast. The website clearly states that breakfast is included in the charge for the room. Being asked to pay an extra £6-50 for full English breakfast was a bit of a blow.

  "We were disappointed on our last stay in the hotel cause the guests next to our room were very noisy during the whole night. There were at least 4 people in that twin room." (108130831)

  "Lovely hotel, very handy location, good faclities, great food, brilliant value for money. Would definitely stay again." (108450616)

  Hotel was clean, bright and modern. Room was well-appointed, clean, in good condition and everything worked! Excellent value for money, especially as internet access and continental breakfast were included in the room price.

  Only a VERY TINY grumble! The hotel was quite busy with a large party of business people, plus the restaurant with some guests having a-la-carte meals. I only wanted a light meal (which was very good) at the bar, and I appreciate that the staff were distracted, but I felt as a result that I was treated a little bit 'second class'. Please remember that every guest is important!

  High quality finishing touches in the room with brand new Bathroom. Bathroom was high spec quality with good water pressure . Breakfast was full English with continental included and all was delicious. Thank you.

  "My heart sank when I arrived and was greeted with "Oh, yes, our first booking." The fact that the owners are new helped to explain the cluelessness of the girl on reception, as well as the fact that the man on the desk when I booked in tried to persuade me that I should be paying more than the Active Hotels price. However, the room was very good and made up for the other problems." (107626297)

  The room was clean and kept in good order. Good location.

  Loud hammering and drilling noises early in the morning - in my five days there I was woken before 8 by the noise. No way to get help if you need it during the night.

  "My only criticism above is natural, since the electricians were still working on the renewal." (107708260)

  Everything except a couple of minor details excellent. Service both friendly and hyper-efficient

  I suggest it could be improved by having soap tray and shelf in shower. The strip light + shaver socket in room 2 were not working so I couldn't shave.

  breakfast self service tea poor. no menu. slow sevice. room 17 no socket for kettle near tray, nearest socket under tv danger of steam on tv.

  "We would stay again and recommend to our friends but next time I would consider using the train unless there was a discount for car parking." (107746834)

  Room was great with excellent bathroom. Staff were extremely helpful.

  I thought £85 per night a little high due no car parking facilities

  just been refurbished so the hotel was in excellent condition,staff very friendly.

  we phoned the monday before we were due to stay on the thursday to find that too many bookings had been taken for the family rooms,but the staff were very accomodating and managed to book us in a double room at the last minute.
