    "The Hotel is ok for a stopover,(not far away from the chanel tunnel, good situated for traffic) but for staying there in the region, there will be much nicer places to be. In General, the hotelstaff should be able to speak a general english, which was not really the case. Per accident a soapbowl broke and we had to pay an extra charge of 7Euro. The opinion is done..."     Pity that both the bar and the restaurant was closed on Monday evenings, I would have expected a reduction in the room rate to compensate.

    "Good. We always enjoy the luxury of the room although there was some confusion over the provision of the luxury bathrobes normally in the room. On enquiring, the manager telephoned the receptionist (who not on duty on arrival) and when we came back to the room, bathrobes had been provided, although not the usual luxury ones. It was good of him to ensure we had the standard we had paid for. It appears that the hotel is under new management and was not as busy as usual for the same night of the year. We have never stayed in any other room in the hotel, but if you want a little touch of luxury during your stay and without the hassle of being in the town centres, the Grand Confort room is the place to be."     We always stay in the Grand Confort room at the end of a two week holiday in France prior to catching the Eurotunnel back to UK. The room is truly lovely and adds a nice touch of luxury at the end of the holiday, especially the whirlpool bath; a great way to unwind after the 500Km drive. The restaurant was excellent when we ate in there four years ago although we now prefer to go out into Boulogne for a last little taste of French city life before we leave for home.

    No tea/coffee making facilities in room. Nearby hotels have such facilities yet they only charge a third of the rate! There is an empty fridge in the room which makes a noise and keeps you awake at night; we always turn it off overnight. Although the room standard is worth the rate, it seems cheap to charge for breakfast when you have paid such a high premium rate (150 euros) to stay; free breakfast would be a nice touch. The room fittings need a handyman touch; most fittings in the bathroom were loose on the wall; the lights over the basin did not work during our stay. The manager fed his children in the breakfast room while we were eating and although they were very well behaved it was slightly uncomfortable to have the bustle going on in there while we were eating. The carpet has suffered badly since last year; stains beside the bed and in the middle of the room.

    Room clean and tidy, food good but quite expensive as were drinks.

    Although website stated one room left, whole hotel empty recepton closed on arrival. Key left in the room door. Reception only open during breakfast and from around 6pm. Heating not operational until October, very cold although extra blankets were easily obtained. Hotel should state that it is situated in the middle of an industrial estate as location looks rural from photos.

    The staff were very helpful.

    Location was not good - on the edge of town with the out of town supermarkets and garages. Breakfast was only adequate, the choice was very limited.

    "We were happy with the accomodation and location of the hotel but when we arrived on Saturday afternoon, the hotel was completely deserted and their was a note stuck to the door explaining that our room key was in the door and that breakfast was served between 8.30am and 10.00am.     Room was still available 2days before RWC final and prices were not inflated to take advantage of all the traffic coming over from England. Staff made sure our room was open as we only arrived off the channel at midnight

    Perfect start for a bunch of Saffas going to the WC Rugby and SA winning it there's nothing to complain about.

    "No great complaints, except perhaps that the reception office ought to be manned a little more carefully. There was no one in the office, the door was locked and the hotel was like the Marie Celeste. A notice on the office door said that I had to telephone for attention, which eventually arrived after about fifteen minutes. What if I'd had no telephone? Not a nice welcome really. At the end of our stay, although we didn't have to vacate our room until 12.00, the receptionist was knocking on our door before ten o'clock asking for our payment, so that she could depart. We have stayed at this hotel a few times before, with no problems. Let's just hope this was a one off problem." (97875844)

    Accommodation was clean and tidy. The ensuite facilities were good.

    Accommodation was cold upon arrival, and it took a while for the staff to get the heater working. At breakfast the food was plentiful, although the coffee and tea could have been warmer.

    Free Car park facilities hard to find in the area. Good

    "We used this hotel as a stop over on our return journey to Calais and found that our desired expectations had been fulfilled. The room was of a good size and very clean with ample adjacent parking. The furnishings in the restaurant are very pleasant which created a warm ambiance for our evening meal and we would be pleased to make use of this hotel on our next visit. The Intermarche supermarket is around the corner which provides last minute shopping if required. Altogether a most enjoyable hotel with friendly staff in attendance." (99022382)

    Location and convenience. Very well sited for access to Calais and the super-market (InterMarche) for that last minute shopping.

    "The hotel was easily accessable. The restaurant was extremely over priced. Food was good quality however they did not cater for vegetarians apart from a plate of vegetables that they offered. The room was so small and smelt damp. The bathroom was tiny to the extent that you could hardly turn around in it. Overall not a hotel myself or my friend would ever use again. We found far cheaper and superior hotels whilst travelling around this weekend." (99568942)

    The accomodation was fairly easy to get to from calais port, also it was in a nice quiet location.

    The room was so small it was also dimly lit and felt extremely damp. With a bathroom that you could just about turn around in. The floor was stcky and felt like it had not been cleaned.

    "The accomodation is excellent. The restaurant is dreadful. The menus appear to be for typical French bistro food and the presentation is very good. Unfortunately, I suspect that most of the food has not been prepared locally - and it hasn't even been well reheated. I had a confit de canard which was completely inedible - my wife had coq au vin which wasn't much better. In hundreds of meals eaten over the years all over France, this was the worst. Stay in the hotel - friendly staff and great value rooms - eat in town ! My advice to travellers: excellent rooms - eat somewhere else!" (99150622)

    The room was very clean and brightly decorated.

    The bed was old, worn out and not very comfortable. We were glad we only stayed for one night for this reason. It let an otherwise very nice hotel down badly.
