  "Although staff were wonderful, I would stay again only if the bad points I mentioned above were dealt with" (107534839)

  The staff at Hotel Verdun were extremely helpful. The breakfasts were excellent.

  Our room had no shower curtain, the light in the bathroom was hanging by a wire. The carpeting on the floor was not clean looking.

  "The hotel was located within easy walking distance to stores, restaurants tourist sights and bus transportation. The staff were very welcoming and helpful during our visit. While the hotel was located on a street with heavy traffic, the windows effectively blocked out the street noise." (97614988)

  The room was bright and comfortable with adequate storage for clothing and luggage.

  The reception was on the first floor rather than the street level so luggage had to be hauled up a flight of stairs to check in.

  "The elevator starts after the second floor. The staff was helpful with the bags, but some people may not ask for help. We couldn't carry our bags by ourselves. The beds seemed very old and the floor was grungy." (97258260)

  There was nothing to like. The floor in the room was very spotted dirty, the sheet was used as a pillow case, it just was more like a no star hotel. The staff was nice.

  The place needs an overhaul.

  "This was my second stay at the hotel and I was treated as a special return guest. All the staff were kind as well as courteous, and my room was lovely, as well as spotlessly clean. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to fellow travellers and have already done so to my friends!" (97131071)

  As always, this hotel was clean and comfortable. And its location in Nice is both quiet and extremely central.

  "I booked this hotel because of its city centre location and value for money. However I was very impressed by the warm welcome and consistent kindness and friendliness of the hotel staff throughout, which was greatly appreciated. As a result I felt very safe and comfortable for the duration of my stay. I would have no hesitation of booking this hotel again for myself or recommending it for others" (99062448)

  The room was thoroughly cleaned daily with provision of clean towels

  There was nothing to dislike. It was more than adequate for my requirements. However a fridge in the room would have been a bonus

  Once we were moved from an extremely small room (34) the alternative room was good and had a nice balcony (42)

  "A very well placed hotel for the 'old town', beach and main shopping street - all 3 are within very easy walking distance. Similarly, easily accessible from the airport ( bus stop 5 at Terminal 2 to Nice Ville ). The staff at the Hotel are welcoming and speak a good array of languages; they are charmingly helpful - nothing is too much trouble! There are some equally pleasant (and value for money) eating places very near-by for those who do not wish to venture further afield. All-in-all, the location, facilities and local people made our stay a memorable one!" (99373259)

  Good clean establishment, nothing fancy but everything you would need - including a fan in the room, which was invaluable
