    "Stayed for 3 nights to celebrate new year and it was a good value and well located place to stay. Don't expect luxury, but for a comparatively small amount of money you get a quiet and comfortable base from which to explore the city. Breakfast requires an additional payment, so we didn't bother eating at the hotel. There are a number of patisseries/boulangeries within moments of the hotel where you can get a delicious authentic breakfast for a portion of the cost. Walking to nearby attractions like the Pompidou centre takes around 20mins, or take the metro to all the city's museums and monuments in less than 30mins. Paris is a nice city to walk around through, provided it is not too cold!" (107580060)

    Quiet peaceful rooms at the back of the hotel. Friendly staff talk you through the location and important information on arrival and are then available 24h a day. Fantastic location - around 10mins walk from Gare du Nord and a couple of minutes to the local metro station at Gare de l'Est.

    Perhaps slightly outdated decor, and bathroom door and bedroom windows don't shut properly.

    "Good price, nice staff and excellent location." (107185780)

    Clean and cosy room, polite staff. Didn't have breakfast so nothing to say about. Close to rail stations that was very good for us. Quite room looking to the back close so no traffic noise.

    All bad points are in the bathroom. It's clean and everything works fine but there was no shower curtain that makes floor wet and the loo was very close to the bath - not comfortable for people with long legs. There were also kitchen smells in the mornings came into the window. I guess it's only in the rooms looking to the back street.

    Room had all that was needed for a brief stay.

    Walls of room very thin,so better sound-proofing is desirable - esp. when neighbours return late and have an argument!

    "I would use a hotel that was recommended in guide books if available. The inflexibility to change our plans is not something a good hotel would do. The hotel was fully booked and surely would have had not problem filling our rooms the day we decided to leave. This type of commercialism seems to be found only in poorly run hotels. I am sure the hotel not only charged me for the extra two rooms but also made money off another client for those rooms as we vacated them in the morning." (107213435)

    The staff was very nice and helpful.

    My room had been cleaned with bleach, the smell was overwhelming. I had to air out the room and then leave the window open at night in order to make the room livable. The cleaning crew closed up the room during the day while I was gone and thus the smell was unbearable when I returned at night and the room had to be completely aired out with window and door open in order to make it bearable again. My guests decided after two days that they wanted to go back to my home but the staff told us that we would pay for three nights regardless of using only two nights.

    "overall a very good hotel. good value for money, close to amenities and transportation, and helpful staff who speak english (for those of us whose french isn't the greatest)." (108043738)

    the staff were very courteous and helpful, and someone is on duty 24 hours a day. the hotel is in a culturally diverse neighbourhood, and is within easy walking distance of gare du nord (10-15 minutes) and gare de l'est (7-10 minutes). the hotel is also close to several rer and metro lines which go almost directly to major tourist sites. it is also very clean.

    there is a lot of street noise at all hours, and there is no air conditioning (so it was very hot in our 4th floor room when it was 30+ degrees outside).

    "Overall, a very pleasant place to stay. All queries to Desk staff were answered courteously and informatively, and I observed other guests getting this same type of engagement to their own queries. The room was not huge, but was perfectly adequate; the bathroom was larger than I expected. I had requested a quiet room and I got exactly that -- much to our delight!" (99513380)

    "In the last few years, I have stayed in several hotels near Gare de Nord in Paris. I think so far it was one of the best in that area. However, I would have like to before booking if in a cause of emergency the lift goes out of order, what alternative arrangments they could provide with?" (99787746)

    It was at a walking distance from the Euostar terminal (Gare de Nord). The staff were helpful, standard of the cleanliness was good and the room was reasonable spacious.

    During our stay the lift was out of order for one full day and we were at the top floor.
