    "The good points far outweigh the bad points and it is well worth paying the extra euros for a "chambre panoramique" - why else does one go to Carcassonne but to see that postcard view of the citadel on the hill above the river ...?!" (108569643)

    Excellent position - half way between the two main centres of Carcassonne. Fantastic view from room (which is why we chose this hotel). Lovely walk along the river, plenty of eating places within few minutes' walk.

    Cost of breakfast = 12 euros per person. Come on! You don't pay that for a "full English" breakfast! Needless to say we did not eat in, went out for coffee and croissants. ALSO maintenance -there was no plug in the bathroom sink. I reported this every morning and it was duly written into the repairs book every morning by the helpful receptionists. But no plug ever appeared over our 3 night stay.

    L'acceuil était parfait (idem pour le personnel du restaurant), le repas du soir était excellent. Très belle vue panoramique du château depuis votre terrasse (fort sympathique).

    Tuyau de douche était cassé, Problème de chasse d'eau dans les WC, problème avec les stores (énormément de bruit quand on les fait fonctionner), draps de lits n'étaient pas vraiment propre (auréoles jaunes sur le coussin). De plus, en sortant de la chambre j'ai constaté qu'une femme de chambre nettoyait une autre chambre et elle a posé les coussins et les draps + couvertures parterre. Cela ne se fait pas, vu que vous avez de la moquette et que ce n'est pas du tout hygiénique. Ensuite elle repose ceci sur le lit et c'est nous qui posons notre visage dessus !! Il faudra enlever les moquettes pour une meilleure propreté.

    The staff were very helpful and friendly. All reception staff spoke very good English. The hotel was in a wonderful position on the edge of the River Aude and facing the old city. Breakfasts were very good value for the money.

    No really negative points except there was no phone in my room and my hair dryer was broken when I arrived. This was repaired when I asked but I didn't bother about the phone.

    It was placed centrally in the town/city. We had a room with a view, and what a fantastic view we had from balcony. Will be staying their on our next visit. would recommond it to anyone.

    Room, service, Restaurant and Staff were all very good

    Although rooms were good they did need 'refreshing' in some areas,for example the curtains and light fittings were showing their age.The main complaint is that the swimming pool was much too cold and the jacuzzi was not available.

    "As already stated, the hotel was in an excellent position alongside the old bridge into the old city of Carcassonne which was about ten minutes walk away. The hotel's position was very quiet and away from main roads. There was also an additional outdoor restaurant across the road overlooking the riverside. The swimming pool was very well appointed, but the main feature of the hotel more than lived up to its expectations and that was for the glorious views of the old city of Carcassonne, especially at night when the ramparts are floodlit. The restaurant also looked out onto the fantastic views and as already stated the 21Euro Menu was not only excellent food but included a half bottle of local wine of reasonable quality. We certainly spent an enjoyable two-night's stay there!" (99566400)

    The fantastic view of the old city of Carcassonne An excellent restaurant at reasonable prices. The evening meal was not only superbly cooked and presented but the 21 Euro Menu included a half bottle of wine. The restuarant's position gives amazing views of the old city and its floodlighting in the evening.

    There was a lack of drawer space for small clothing and there were not enough pillows made available.

    "Hotel was great, reception were helpful, always on hand. Location wise, this hotel had the best spot, 10mins walk to the castle and 10mins walk the other way to the city and canal du midi. It was by the river and parkland and the Castle seemed touching distance away." (99350647)

    Close to the Cite of Carcassonne

    Abrupt and rude greeting on arrival after a 7 1/2 hour journey by the CHIEF RECEPTIONIST!!! !. 1.TOLD very grufly that we could'nt be long in the unloading bay because there was a coach arriving. 2.We were given the key to our room at about 4.30pm and the room was not ready. There was one poor girl cleaning and changing for all the rooms, SHE was very appologetic and polite. We returned to reception and explained.The Chief receptionist told us we would have to wait for 20 minutes, no appology and no notification when the room was ready.VERY DISAPPOINTING ESPECIALLY FROM A MIDDLE MANAGER, A VERY POOR FIRST IMPRESSION.

    "The hotel was tatty and tacky generally, but the rooms were clean and functional with exceptional views. We would like to have known that there were no coffee or tea facilities either in the room or available at the hotel." (99423274)

    Room was clean and had a fantastic view over the river towards the Medieval city. Breakfast was good with a decent selection. When we checked in the receptionist was very friendly and booked a table for us at an excellent restaurant nearby.

    The hotel was very dated and the communal carpets and general decor was dirty and tatty throughout, particularly in the restaurant and the stairwells. There were no coffee facilties available to guests.

    "Very easy access to and from the airport, for two people the taxi fare is the same as the bus fare. the hotel was easy to find and check in staff had all the details ready. The room was clean and tidy and all equipment / facilities worked. Hotel corridors were too warm but temperature in room was easily controlled. Breakfast was good value for money. It was odd to have the toilet separate from the bathroom but would have been ok if there was a sink in with the toilet. Not good that the patio door on the balcony did not lock as it was broken.     It was in a good location - close to both the old walled city and the town.

    The room was pretty basic. I asked for a double room with a view of the walled city and two twin rooms. The room with a view had single beds in it rather than a double. Also patio door that opened onto the balcony was broken - i.e. we could not lock this. The toilet was separate to the bathroom so no sink in actual toilet area.

    "We enjoyed out stay here simply because the view from our room was so spectacular. To see from our own balcony the walled city lit up at night and then with the backdrop of a stunning sunrise in the morning was incredible. Unfortunately the hotel was shabby and unkept with peeling wallpaper everywhere. The toliet room was so small it wasn't possible to close the door whilst using it! Eating breakfast in the hotel was a mistake. But, despite all of this, it has to have the best view of 'La Cite' ever! If you are going to stay here, pay the extra for a room with a view otherwise, in my opinion, it's not worth it." (99608633)

    Room with a view, well equipped with fridge, safe, good bathroom, toiletries, TV, good reading lights over beds.

    Why wasn't there a small hand basin in with the toilet, rather than having to use 2 door handles before being able to wash hands. Also no drawer space at all, meant living out of suitcase..plenty of hanging space though.

    "The panoramic rooms were fantastic worth every extra penny spent! In summer their restaurant is outside on the other side of the street which again has fabulous views of the castle.     "Easy to find the hotel, especially because it is situated by the bridge - a straightforward drive into town following the cite signs. Everything you need - parking, views, restaurant and location. Because we had booked through active hotels, checking in was very simple. All the staff we had contact with spoke very good English and were pleasant and helpful. The room had balcony, tv, bar, air conditioning, bath/shower room and separate wc. If you want to visit the cite and the ville basse, this is a great choice, and you won't get a better view of the medieval town if you book a panoramic room!" (99163847)

    The location was excellent, within walking distance (approx 15 minutes) of the medieval cite. We had a panoramic view room on the 5th floor, which gave us beautiful views over the cite and the river. Even though the hotel was central, it wasn't noisy at all at night time. We didn't go to the hotel restauarant, but there was a choice of an outdoor terrace restaurant and a fourth floor restaurant with a view over the cite. Menus were advertised in the hotel, which were reasonably priced with a really good choice of dishes. The hotel also has private, secure (with cctv) parking for 8 euros per night. Would certainly stay here again.
