    "Very acceptable." (108330378)

    Quiet hotel in good location for many attractions. We arrived by train and had around a 20 min walk to the hotel. We ate in the hotel and the food was well cooked and presented. Breakfast offered a wide choice of foods. The staff were attentive and very helpful. Some staff spoke more English than others but between us we understood one another in the end!

    Would have liked better signage or directions to the hotel. although we did spot one indicator, if only we had been driving on the one way system. Although a tea or coffee tray was available free of charge,and quickly supplied on request, it would have been nice to have had more readily available in the room.

    The menu for the Valentines dinner was good and food nicely presented.

    Breakfast on Sunday was very poor. Slow service, no cooked breakfast available until we asked for the containers to be re-filled. The scrambled eggs were luke warm and sparce. We had to ask for more bread as this ran out, after 10 minutes more appeared, but was still frozen in the middle. There were no pastries available by this time. We complained to reception and were not charged. We took our breakfast at about 9.25 and people were still coming in at 10.00 It was an unfortunate last impression of the hotel The room itself was small and little storage space for clothes, though we were only staying for one night! The waiting staff in the dining room on Saturday evening were not that organised and slow. We were unable to get drinks in the bar before dinner, but room service was eventually offered.

    Generally comfortable hotel with an excellent restaurant whose staff are very attentive.

    The reception was somewhat confused. We have stayed at this hotel several times and must say that the furnishings, especially the carpeting in the public areas, is somewhat frayed

    Tea/coffee faclities in the room would be a nice feature Parking was an issue with limited parking spaces resulting in a parking ticket.

    The hotel was clean and very central to where we wanted to go.

    The reception was shabby, carpet could do with being relaced. This could make a different impression. Breakfast was poor and not good value for money, coffee too strong and not hot.

    Excellent breakfast. Comfortable room. Hotel with character. Very central to the town.

    The receptionist didn't know that the hotel used to be a monastery. No text on the television.

    Room was good size and hotel generally clean and in good order. Staff were helpful and frienly.

    Poor directions/signposting to find hotel which is off main streets. Car parking limited.Tea/Coffee making facilities not provided automatically - the facilities leaflet in the room explained these could be requested from reception but after a long journey reading the hotel info was not a high priority so I didn't find out until too late. If the hotel don't want to provide this as a matter of course the reception staff could ask as a part of the check in process rather than leave it up to the customer to find out (or not).

    Excellent situation for shopping and sight seeing.

    We asked after arrival for a coffee maker in the room but didn't get one.

    An excellent experience with your staff at the hotel

    The Hotel has changed little since our last stay. It badly needs decorating and a new Carpet in the Hotel Restaraunt

    "Generally the quality of Best Western Hotels is good and so it was a safe bet to book. The price on offer was reasonable - better than on the hotel price list. The hotel was central but a little difficult to find from some directions. Most impressive was the staff, both in terms of attitude and efficiency." (97076053)

    The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel was clean and well-organised, the room comfortable.

    Only slight problem is the parking

    "We recieved a warm welcome from the receptionist who coped well with our lack of French, both rooms were comfortable and beautifully decorated/ furnished. Rooms were clean and well maintained. Dinner in the restaurant is highly recommended with an array of local dishes being well presented and cooked. Breakfast at 13 euros was a little dissapointing." (97077821)

    We had a quiet room overlooking the couryard of the hotel. The room was very clean, the bathroom was spacious and modern and the bed large and comfortable.

    Nothing, really. We would have liked tea/coffee making facilities

    "There was one member of the staff at this hotel who seemingly has some kind of attitude problem and is bordering on total rudeness. I wish I had taken his name to pass on the powers that be at Best Western but I can give them a description of him if they would like! We had his attitutde on arrival when we asked for a drink and in the evening when we dined at the restaurant. As for the restaurant, we thought it was over priced and over rated. The rest of the staff were fine." (99151372)

    The best thing about this hotel is it's central location and free parking.

    The room we were given was noisy - we decided that because we were only staying one night it wasn't worth changing but our room number was 207 - beware!

    Lovely lovely town and central location. Hotel was super. It served it's purpose as a stop over but the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were adequate, spacious and all in working order. Not the most up to date hotel room but it's a lovely hotel and good value.

    The room was equipped for a disabled person which we did not require. There was only a shower and the W.C,. was too high.

    "Overall it suited our needs - the hotel is conveniently situated in the centre of Arras with a car park. We would have preferred a slightly larger room more conveniently situated." (99622870)

    Comfortable bed, the room was clean, warm and reasonably furnished. Good bathroom with plenty of hot water.

    Bedroom (non-smoking) was a bit too small and up a flight of stairs, which was awkward with our luggage.

    "The Hotel is well situated within the town and very convenient for visiting the town's places of interest.I was particulalry pleased that the Hotel had its own car park which made life so much easier when accessing the Hotel. On arriving in Arras I located the Hotel OK but I can see that some people may have difficulty finding the Hotel if using the website map. Perhaps a map with more detail could be provided. However, this did not detract from the fact that the Hotel is very good and the food excellent" (99916085)

    "The hotel is not easy to find for a motorist. Hotel needs a clear map on the net or to send a map to each visitor. We speak French and were able to get directions, as we went round. Parking, of course, is problematic there." (99357288)

    Very good accommodation for its rating.

    Nothing to dislike but two oddish matters. As a handicapped person, my wife found the 2nd floor room (upstairs) a bit hard and the hotel had not received our request for dinner sent by em-mail. This was rectified but I can imagine a non- French speaking guest being at a loss.
