    Clean and pleasant ambience. Rooms are not large but adequate - certainly for an overnight stop. Very good food.

    Proprietor was not there at 18.00, when the hotel reception was supposed to be available but arrived some 15/20 minutes later. It seems to be a recurrent problem - why doesn't he change the check-in time to 18.30 and avoid the immediate negative response? He is perfectly helpful otherwise.

    It seemed to be closing at 10 despite fact that check in on your site was till ten thirty. Resturant shuts at 9 so no food or drink and very isolated and no where else to go

    "Hotel opens at 6.45; not 6.00 as stated on the website. Staff very friendly but no English spoken. Rooms very basic (it's an auberge not a hotel), reception/ bar area also very small but the restaurant is well worth a visit even if you don't stay at the auberge." (108247658)

    Superb welcome. Really excellent food.

    None to speak of - the room was rather small and basic but perfectly clean, comfortable and adequate.

    Good, clean and friendly hotel. Plenty to eat for continental breakfast at a reasonable rate.

    The staff did not speak english which could be difficult for some although we didn't have a problem.

    Fan thoughtfully provided in room. Very helpful staff. Very good breakfast.

    Unfortunately the restaurant was closed for the duration of our stay as they were attending a local festival - we were not informed of this before our arrival. We were disappointed but the closure did not cause us any problems.

    Very clean, especially our double room. Excellent service. The dinner was delicious and beautifully presented. Friendly and attentive staff. Bedrooms at the back are quiet, overlooking the river (if you are tall enough!). We were the only guests but we were made to feel welcome.

    The website says they open at 18:00. This is not so. There is a notice on the door giving the correct opening time of 18:30. If "Lesley" from Brixham and her fellow guests had known this, they may not have been so disgruntled. The bedroom window is a skylight, so not easy to enjoy the view.

    The room was exceptionally clean.The breakfast was ample and varied.

    We were told we could not be there before 6p.m.which is late by French standards.When we arrived just before 6,the hotel was deserted with a number to ring.The owner finally arrived at 6.20,which was hardly welcoming.The room,although clean was very small with only a flat window in the roof-no outlook at all.To top it all the restaurant was closed for that night and the next.We were not aware of this and neither were the other two English couples who had booked in for that night.After seeing us in the owner disappeared for the night.There was no atmosphere at all.Needless to say we said we were not prepared to stay the 3 nights for which we had booked.
