"It was what we needed, where we wanted it. It was booked only 24 hours in advance(as a stopover en route to a late deal holiday) if I had more time I would have trawled for a cheaper hotel." (108257740)
The lady ensured we could book in after a missed ferry and a delayed replacement meant that we missed the normal check in deadline (obviously telephoned to tell her we were delayed). 5 minutes from the ferry terminal.
Town / City centre hotel therefore a bit of noise from passing drunks, not that bad really but worth mentioning if you're a very light sleeper. Quite Pricey.

"Perfect as a stopover hotel for a family who don't want to spend the earth." (108047302)
One of the few budget hotels in Calais (in all of France actually) that can sleep more than 3. We booked the quad room, which actually had 5 beds, although the smallest was only suitable for a child less than 10yrs. It was clean, spacious, quiet and the staff were friendly. With their limited english and my limited french we got on fine. The restaurant downstairs is fine if you you can't be bothered to walk into town. Their kids menu was spot on. I'm not a hotel snob and can forgive slightly worn carpets and paintwork - as long as the place is clean and I get a good night's sleep - which I did will certainly be booking again.
Breakfast was a rip off. First of all you had to book it the night before, then it was ?7.50 each (even the toddler!) for a glass of juice, a croissant and a chunk of bread (no cheese or jam). Not even hot tea or coffee. Waste of money. Go to the cafe 100m down the road and get a decent breakfast for less. No english channels on the TV.

"We had a bed for the night!!" (107669968)
Bathroom was clean.
Bedrooms were through a lockable door straight off the street. No one was resident on the premises overnight. It appeared that we were the only guests as we were asked what time we would like breakfast. In the morning we had to stand on the pavement outside our room until the owner arrived 15 mins after the time we had requested breakfast, as the breakfast area was locked, also straight off the main road. The owner leaned on a bar opposite us throughout our meal (reading a newspaper) and we were the only people in there. Not a relaxed way to start the day!
