"This was our second visit to the Platzl. We raved about the place the first time, recommended it to all our friends and were excited about returning. It is not the place it was. Supposed to be a top of the range hotel - more like a good three star." (107722328)

Typically Bavarian with very friendly staff except from those involved in room service. To be fair, if the euro had not been so strong against the pound it would have been better value for money.

Housekeeping service consisted only of making the bed - nightwear just thrown on the side on top of suitcase, shower gel container not refilled, undrinkable tea for two not removed from room, small touches disappointed like chocolates by bed on first night but not on second. On both mornings, eggs ran out at buffet and were not replenished for 20 minutes.

Nice locaion, very well kept and good breakfast!

A little noisy outside (as the hotel is located in the heart of the old city)

clean, spacious

too hot during the first night but I believe the staff turned the radiator off after I raised this.

"Our brief stay was a most enjoyable experience all round. As experienced world travellers, my wife and I regard the Platzl as one of the most comfortable hotels in which we have stayed. I would strongly recommend the Platzl to anyone who is looking for quality accommodation within easy reach of the centre of Munich. Frequent trains from Marienplatz (3 minutes walk) run directly to the airport." (97959666)

Spotlessly clean, very well appointed and maintained, courteous staff, quiet, very comfortable, excellent breakfast buffet, three minutes easy walk to Marienplatz.

"I wish I had known I could have taken a day trip to Saltzburg. Tt was my fault that I hadn't checked how close Saltzburg was to Munich. I would have stayed an extra night." (99858022)

The hotel has a fantastic location and the room was so clean.

location was perfect for seeing the city, the staff was very helpful, the room was so beautiful, comfortable, excellent hotel

Parking was tight, but not that bad
