  "An easy to book online site for foreigners led us to a helpful hotel. We were very pleased." (108906552)

  Convenient to city and all amenities. Clean. A good breakfast. Helpful and friendly staff. Parking on street seemed simple with a voucher from the hotel. Convenient to many restaurants.

  Much graffitti around the hotel but this did not deter us from the overall advantage of the hotel and the experience of it.

  Situated close to the city centre. Spacious room.

  There was no cleaning of the room during our stay (3 days). No elevator.

  "I had seen some negative feedback on this Hotel but it is in the middle (looks like nearly complete) of a refurb. I was happy. If you are staying in Hamburg overnight you won't find better value for money." (99676647)

  "We would have liked to know that the hotel felt like it hadn't finished being decorated. We would have liked to know that heating was not in place. We would definitely have liked to know that there was nothing to stop horrible cooking smells from wafting up from the basement. Generally the place felt unloved and not prepared to receive customers. Ugh!" (99809821)

  The hotel had just undergone renovation which MAY account for the fact that the decor was minimalist. The receptionist didn't speak much English. The breakfast room was in the reception area and we were met on arrival with a woman dressed as if she had just got up from bed and who was smoking so that it hit us as soon as we opened the door. We did not stay at the hotel. There was a strong and very unpleasant smell of cooking (cabbage?) which permeated the hallway at ground floor level where our rooms were located. One of the rooms had no curtains on the window. The other room had only half a bed made and rubbish and general cleaning material were left in the room. Both rooms were very cold. Having paid for the rooms up front we requested a refund and, after some argument by the hotel owner, we received the refund.
