    Hotel is very convenient situated in the centre of Geneva - very efficient staff and all round cleanliness.

    Reception is a bit impersonal - no bar area but plenty of communal seating and drinks can be purchased at reception

    The best thing about the Cornavin Hotel is the view from the breakfast room.

    The room was a bit small, but it was comfortable.

    Nice room, with modern furniture and good looking style. Good view from breakfast hall.

    Just one thing. Independly of that room is non smoking, we every time ventilating, because was very strong cicarett's smell inside the room. And for us, as nonsmokers that was very bad.

    "Very poor indeed, and incredible that this hotel has a 4* rating, which in my view is totally misleading.No warmth from staff and a real feeling of impersonality; that guests just flow through this place and that it is part of the railway and bus station. Not a nice place to go back to after a day's work or to arrive at after a long journey.When I enquired whether or not I could borrow an umbrella during my stay,I was told bluntly that they did not have any ,and that I could buy one in a shop for SFr15.I hated my stay here,and felt unwelcome.     Central location

    Unhelpful check in ,indifferent, and bordering on rude.Room was poorly lit , and bathroom shower sachets(shower gel) more likely to be found in a hotel with no star rating.Very poor breakfast,with no fresh fruit available, and no restaurant or bar facilities in the hotel.Notices up everywhere warning guests about a recent spate of robberies in city hotels.Nobody answered the telephone at reception when I tried contacting them from my room on a number of occasions on the nights of 8 and 9 Oct.Luggage left in the hotel at reception is totally insecure-no tags are issued(which means anyone could claim any bag stored in the bag room behind reception).

    Location Friendly staff Quietness - despite being next to the rail station and tram/road interchange the double glazing is so good it is completely silent in the room (Floor 5) Wifi Internet at 20 SFr for 7 days - a better deal that many 4* hotels in Geneva.

    Only cooked breakfast is (hot)hard boiled eggs. Old fashioned metal keys to rooms.

    Keys have heavy metal fobs. Portable sized TV mounted in corner on ceiling in this room made viewing difficult.

    Well located just 100m from Gare Cornavin (Geneva Central Rail Station) and next to trams and buses to everywhere in Geneva. My room on 6th floor had double glazing and no noise could be heard. Ultra-modern/minimalist/boutique style hotel is attractive but anyone with vertigo may be alarmed by the glass lifts and glass sided stairwells. Hotel Cornavin like most in Geneva provides a free bus/train/tram pass for the duration of your stay. Panoramic view from breakfast room on 8th Floor. Highly attentive & friendly breakfast waiting staff team who serve coffee and tea to your table.

    It was 31 degrees when I arrived and for the next 3 days. The A/C in my room worked properly but struggled to keep the room cool even when left on all evening and overnight. I imagine that it can cope well in normal temperatures. Remembering it was 31 degrees outside: Breakfast room was too warm. Fruit juices and milk needs to be either chilled or actually stood in ice, not above it in the summer. Can some soft as well as hard boiled eggs be provided? How about free WiFi internet - this is now becoming the international norm. 21st century plastic key cards would be good rather than 20th century metal keys and heavy fobs that need to be left/collected from Reception each day.

    Good size room, clean, good service, great view from 8th floor (breakfast bar and our room), convienient location for transport, city and lake.

    The only thing I didn't like was the frosted glass partition between the bathroom and the bedroom, which lit the room if one of us went to the toilet during the night.

    The room was okay, clean, modern.

    The Pay TV didn't work for both nights I was there even though I complained the first night, the attitude of the staff is perfunctory, they are not really interested. I arrived at the breakfast room at 08:50 and there was no-one there to greet or seat me. I had to find someone to bring me a coffee. She then brought it without saying bonjour and no smile. The breakfast selection was minimal in the extreme. I left without paying my 18 francs, I got fed up with waiting for someone to come. Very bad. The worst thing was that I ordered a wake-up call for 05:00 for the next morning which failed to come and I almost missed my plane leaving at 07:00. It could be a very nice hotel but there's a staff problem - I presume they're not being paid enough!
