    Friendly atmosphere, very helful staff, excellent location and very clean. The restaurant was busy, which is always a good sign and I enjoyed the food.

    Room on the small side, but with a good view. However, the colour scheme is unimaginative and too functional-could do with some pastel colours to make it lighter and happier.

    Nous avons apprécié d'avoir accès à la chambre dès notre arrivée, entre 12h et 13h.

    we asked for a river view...and got one - fantastic - the check-in process was efficient and smooth - in fact, I only called into reception mid-morning to ask if they could look after my overnight case and I was able to check in because the room was ready - now that's service!

    "A very central hotel and remarkably quiet for its location. The views of the river are breathtaking.There is a lovely outdoor restaurant on the river bank. The indoor restaurant is good too." (97383815)

    The best thing about the room is the view of the river - breathtaking and worth staying here just for that.

    The double beds are very small

    "An excellent place to stay for one night when flying into Basle late afternoon, as it is easy to get to and well situated for exploring the town and eating out. Breakfast was very godd and served in a beautiful room. Excellent service. Reception was being renovated at the time, but this did not cause any problem" (99618614)

    "The Hotel was exactly as described and very convenient to the centre. The staff were incredibly pleasant and keen to help, nothing was any trouble. An excellent restaurant made dining a pleasure The hotel provided a mobility card entitling guests to free access on all public transport around the city. I would happily recomment this hotel for comfort and ease on either a short or long stay." (99146275)

    Extremely clean and all facilites in good working order. Excellent restaurant.

    "Hotel is in a great location, right next to the Rheine. The fish restaurant was excellent, best dinner of our entire holiday. Service in restaurant very good. Breakfast was everything you would expect, lots of choice and hard not to eat too much. Room was hot, so didn't get a great night sleep - couldn't open the window as street very noisy outside. Facilities in room ok, coffee maker novel, but very good." (99245412)

    "This hotel should not be rated as a four star, it is more like a 3 star as it is a standard hotel, there is also a lot of noise at night outside. The restaurant is excellent though, I would recomend to eat there, though a little pricy but worth it." (99004240)

    "A short new year break, arrived Dec 30 until new years day. An excellent location by the bridge over the Rhein, public transport 50 mts away and a short walk to the old town. Our room overlooked the river by the bridge and was smallish but ample and comfortable. A short journey to the main railway station to travel further afield On arrival the check in was organised and we were presented with a local public transport pass for the duration of our stay. The hotel staff were helpful and polite. A magnificent firework display new years eve, all just outside the hotel by the bridge. All in all a very pleasing stay." (99371950)
