  "The location of this hotel was great to access the Chianti region and Florence, Siena, San Gimiango. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly in recommending restaurants, providing extra towels etc. There is a number 37 bus which goes from the centre of Tavarnuzze (2 mins in the car or a 10 min walk downhill), back into the centre of Florence. The hotel is on the top of a very steep hill both for the car and to walk back from the centre of Tavarnuzze. There are only a few loungers and chairs alongside a cold filled jacuzzi so if a large pool is your thing, don't stay here. We stayed here for 6 nights which we feel was too long (3 would have been ideal)as all the major towns can be driven to within an hour. In hindsight we could have stayed the other 3 nights either further south or further north west towards Lucca. On the whole, the hotel was very good and the restaurant underneath (Restaurant Montebuoni)was superb and not expensive. I would also recommend La Cantina restaurant in Greve (30 mins drive)and Restaurant Sao Paulo in San Castiano nearby. I would highly recommend Villa Ambrosina to other travellers. Just remember that you will need a car to appreciate this beautiful part of the world." (99571289)

  Location was very good for access to Florence and Chianti region of Tuscany

  No fridge in room, air conditioning noisy. Restaurant underneath hotel was great (separate ownership) apart from the location which was too near to the motorway so when having a romantic meal, all you could really hear was the noise from passing traffic
