  "We had a wonderful time at this hotel and used it as our base while in Greece. Travelling with my husband and 85 year old father could have been quite fraught but the staff here really welcomed us and made us feel special. They set the tone for our whole holiday and we very much enjoyed returning here after trips to Santorini and the Peloponnese. We also met good friends of my father who were staying here en-route to a walking holiday in the Mani! " (107879372)

  Staff were wonderful and went out of their way to be helpful. All spoke excellent English. They booked other hotels for us and taxis, helped arrange car hire and let me use their personal internet to email home. They also provided extra items like a mop and bucket and upgraded us from a four bed room to a family room at no extra cost. The hotel was built c.1980 and has real character. A lot of thought has been put in to its interior decoration - large Cretan-type pots and palm trees flank the entrance,sculpture, old sewing machines and paintings adorn walls and shelves, and table tops display local shells and stones. The swimming pool was a great place to wash off the dust of Athens.

  Very few and only what one might expect with a 1980s hotel - not worth complaining about. We boiled a kettle when we needed hot water.

  "At 75 euro at the end of September I thought the hotel was overpriced, for example I stayed at new 4* hotel in Rafina three nights later for 80 euro and there was no comparison." (107263901)

  Check-in clerk was very good. She was expecting me, had everything ready and helped with advice about local bars and restaurants. I was well looked after at breakfast even though I was one of only a handful of guests at the hotel.

  Hotel is a bit out of the way, particlularly for the price charged. TV had been unplugged at the aerial and so it needed a bit of looking at to see why it wouldn't work. Bathroom was ok, but the shower could have been easier to operate.

  Everything was ok,except one thing,what's really disapointed me,one night before leaving aproximetly at 12p.m we got phone call from reception asking when we are leaving.Our baby was already sleeping and got up after call.:(And another thing is-there is clearly said about check out time,why the staff disturbs us also on the next morning with the same question?

  We were under the impression that the hotel was close to the airport, when in fact it was further that Ahtens centre. False advertisement. Also no info. on how to get there so our cab had a difficult time finding it.

  "Location was good if you do not want to be in the crazy centre of Athens, close to a beach which was nice. I would say the hotel was great as an overnighter, as that is what we did. Kitchen was handy." (99049842)

  Swimming pool was great and helpful staff

  Air conditioner did not work (it just worked as a fan), but i'm sure it was just our room.

  "Apollonia hotel is in a good location for a few days outside of Athens near the sea coast. Though the accommodations are basic, they provided all that we needed for our short stay. It is also close to many restaurants, tavernas and shops." (99081005)

  I liked that my family and friends could stay together in a family room for 6.

  The kitchen was very poorly stocked: not enough glasses, bowls, and untensils.

  "The hotel was great and had there been just a little bit more about how wonderful the town and surrounding area was we would have booked more nights. It was an excellent experience." (99933917)

  The room was very spacious and easy to use. The bathroom was great with hot water and pressure throughout our stay.

  Perhaps directions on the website on how to reach the hotel would be helpful. It was very tricky to get there and the map was of no use.
