Featuring half-timbered buildings, almost complete city walls and a wealth of Roman heritage, beautiful Chester sits by the border with Wales.
The southernmost gate of the walls overlooks the River Dee, and the road leading north is one of 4 in the city to follow the original Roman roads. To the east, the Roman Gardens include a reconstructed underfloor heating system.
Nearby Grosvenor Park has remains of a stone Roman amphitheatre, thought to have been built on the world’s largest wooden amphitheatre at the time. Over the river in the suburb of Handbridge is a 2nd-century shrine to Minerva, and an informative display in the Grosvenor Museum provides the background to all this heritage.
In the west is Chester Racecourse and nearby are the medieval castle remains. More medieval buildings line the cobbled city centre streets. He vivido en varias ciudades de Inglaterra del norte, centro y sur, y sin duda alguna, Chester reune todo lo que buscas si quieres sumergirte en la cultura inglesa sin el agobio de tamaño de Londres. No le puedo poner ningun pero....Es mi lugar favorito del mundo,y parece sacado de un cuento de hadas.

Lo mejor del hotel es la ubicación. Está en el medio de la ciudad y facilita hacer turismo sin necesidad de coger ningún transporte público. También tiene un aire muy tradicional y de lujo, aunque ya se nota el paso del tiempo.
A propósito, para conocer la ciudad os aconsejo un paseo por la muralla. En la Oficina de Turismo te venden una mini-guía echa por ellas (en muchos idiomas) que te cuenta lo que te vas encontrando en ese paseo. Lo aconsejo muy encarecidamente. Merece la pena.
Es un alojamiento muy interesante. Un edificio con mucha historia. Es un pub grande y antiguo que además tiene varias plantas de alojamiento arriba. Se puede desayunar y comer en el pub a buen precio. Recomendable. Muy céntrico, a un paso de la zona centro de Chester. Hay que tener en cuenta que no hay ascensor.
La ubicación era estupenda para moverse por Chester. Cerca de todo, incluida la estación de tren. La cocina muy bien equipada y la cama muy cómoda. El contacto con el personal estupendo, muy atentos y serviciales.
La habitacion bastante amplia, la ubicacion porque puedes ir andando al centro viejo de Chester 15-20 minutos. Hay un supermercado justo a lado del hotel y algunos restaurantes andando por el rio a unos 200 mts.
Simplemente excepcional, muy limpio, acogedor, muy bien ubicado y sobre todos los dueños son excepcionalmente amables y atentos. Muy recomendable para pasar unos días en Chester.
