About Hotel Boccaccio hotel
Taking its name from the illustrious Tuscan poet, Giovanni Boccaccio, this hotel harmoniously combines contemporary comforts and authentic Florentine style in a building from the 1700s.
During the hotel’s recent and diligent restructuring, the building was extended with the addition of original Carrara marble and numerous modern luxuries.
Hotel Boccaccio can be found in the heart of the historic city centre, in an area between the River Arno and the Church of Santa Maria Novella. It is a short stroll from the railway station, from Piazza Duomo and from the Church of San Lorenzo. This enviable position makes it possible to enjoy, with just a few minutes’ walk, the romantic atmosphere of the Ponte Vecchio, the art in the Galleria degli Uffizi and the treasures of the Galleria dell’Accademia.

Only 5 minutes on foot from the hotel, the same management offers the trattoria, La Carabaccia, to all lovers of real Tuscan cuisine. Open for lunch and dinner and recommended by important gourmet and travel guides, the trattoria has presented a pleasant and warm atmosphere, and been a cordial meeting place since 1972.
Directions
By Train: Arriving at the central station of S. Maria Novella, the hotel can be reached easily by a 5 minute walk. Alight from the train and exit the station to the right. Cross the pedestrian crossing, turn left, and proceed along Via S. Caterina da Siena. The hotel will appear in front of you. By Car: - Whether arriving from the North or South, the most advisable motorway exit is Florence - Signa (A1). - At the exit, follow the indications for the town centre. - Then follow the directions for the central railway station. From the station, turn into Via Santa Caterina da Siena, and the hotel will appear in front of you. - Staff will be happy to see to the parking of your vehicle in a nearby safe garage, with which the hotel has an agreement. By Plane: From Vespucci Florence Airport: The hotel is just a few kilometres from the airport and can be reached by taxi or shuttle bus to S. Maria Novella central station or the SITA bus station (the last bus stop is in Via S. Caterina Da Siena, right in front of thr hotel). It is possible to book a transfer service from/to the airport.
