Good sized room. Very big double bed.
Door lock was difficult to operate.
Overall: Enjoyed stay. Will go again next time we have to stay in/near Tarbert. (107505814)

Good value, great location, mainly helpful and hospitable and friendly staff.
Attentiveness of staff in restaurant was a bit disappointing both in the evening and at breakfast.
Overall: Nice olde worlde hotel - a bit tired but reasonable value compared to some B&B's and although not a proper castle a good alternative. (107707490)

Great staff, lovely location.
No record of ActiveHotels booking was found on our arrival at hotel. Thankfully, they were not fully booked.
Hotel decor somewhat dated and drab.

Spectacular setting in woods along Loch Fyne
Beautiful old castle building in excellent condition
Very helpful and friendly staff
Beds in the twin room were very narrow - it was a king size split in two, not even two full single beds
As narrow as the beds were, were duvet coverings were even narrower - they didn't cover a normal sized person without gaps on each side
The radiator in the room is stupidly placed - being behind very thick drapes, it fails to warm the room effectively. Fortunately staff was very helpful in providing an electric heater.
Booking and check-out process was not handled well. At time of booking, a credit card was required. But only upon check-out were we told that the room was not pre-paid. Not realizing this we had almost left without paying.
Overall: Twin rooms in this hotel offer a completely inadequate level of accommodation for this class of hotel. However, if you're staying in a double, the beautiful setting, good service and food makes this a very pleasant place to be. (107805175)
