Food excellent standard remains high staff really friendly and helpful.

Bad odour of damp(?flat roof problem)in lift area.Decor very tired.

The quality of the food was excellent and the staff were very helpful and friendly

The service in the morning was not up to standard. I was allocated a table that needed preparing and the waitress didn't set the table correctly and I wasn't given a napkin. In addition there was no information about the hotel in my room so i was unable to review the menus for the restaurant. The bathroom was not as clean as it should have been and there were hairs in the bath and on the floor.

The staff were absolutely lovely and the food in the restaurant was superb.

There were small, but irritating, problems in my room, eg, empty tissue box not replaced, not enough plug sockets considering hotel is supposed to have been recently rennovated and everyone has chargers these days, one of the pillows was almost non-existant. Small things that mostly could have been dealt with, but which would have made me feel like I was complaining all the time. Also there was not much drawer space. It was a single room, which makes you wonder how they view single travellers really.

Overall: A lovely three days in Stornoway - hotel is very well situated for the town and the island generally. Felt it was relatively expensive, especially compared with cost of local five star b&b, which presumably has higher overheads as well as being a far superior experience.  (108078771)
