Lovely room no: 8 saxon Lovely linen Good quality food

Not enough of the short bread biscuits in the room Curtains in the room did not close adequately allowing excessive light into the room causing my beloved wife difficulty in sleeping

Bed linen, towels and bathrobes.

Chipped and peeling paintwork in room and on approach, very dirty carpet on approach, rather dirty carpet in room, very cramped bathroom, poorly furnished, no hairdryer, smells from kitchen unwelcome and far too close to room, lack of atmosphere, slight language problem with staff, grossly overpriced.

Overall: Woefully disappointing; we have already emailed the hotel to say so and given details as to why. Stow-on-the-Wold is a delightful place; this hotel lets it down badly.  (107908239)

Room was full of character, clean and warm

The receptionist called us at 10.30pm at home the night before we were booked in as they had got the wrong booking date. When we did book in the next day they had lost the fact they had taken a £50 deposit straight out of my bank at time of booking the room, so I then had to go to the bank and get proof.

Overall: Nice hotel, people friendly but the receptionist not organised  (107900880)

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
