the company i was with a nice friendly night porter

couple having a row in the room above us at 4.30am shower not being a constant temperature and being too hot at points to use flies constantly buzzing around the bar area

hot water tap in the bathroom sink didnt work, so had to wash in cold water

Overall: we enjoyed our stay overall, the atmosphere of the hotel, the staff were responsive and the guests we spoke to we all happy  (108344842)

Room attractive and comfortable Lounge comfortable Interesting menu & food good The hotel is old and has character

Restaurant was not open for dinner - meal in the bar less comfotable for a woman travelling alone. No lift & apparently no porter so suitcase, laptop & briefcase had to be carried up & down the steps at various levels of the hotel. Room at the front of the hotel noisy due to late night revellers & early morning deliveries

Overall: Alright but not brilliant but I would stay again  (108414744)

Lovely facilities in very centre location

Our room overlooked the outside bar, our first night we experienced a very loud group of people parting on until 2.30am. We phoned the '24 hour' reception at 2.00am to ask if the noise could be stopped but no-one answered the phone. A complaint was made with reception the following morning and an apology given. The second night the noise level only went until midnight!! Still a bit annoying to have 2 noisy nights in a row

The staff were friendly and helpful

The room was in need of a face lift, a bit tatty with a worn apperance. A no smoking room that smelt of tobacco smoke.

Overall: Great location, the building has great character but the facilities need a face lift  (107585452)
