In good position
work being done and no sound proofing in room
Overall: I did not realise it was over-looking a railway line, which would not have been too much of a problem if we had to keep the window shut. However, it was a hot two days, windown needed opening and there was no protective sound barrier. However, we did enjoy the stay and it was a bit if a laugh everytime a train went by (1375925)

All staff were friendly,the hotel is in a good location and has character. The room was a good size as was the bathroom. All laundry was clean and in good condition. Food edible, warm.
Better organisation and training of the dining room staff would present a better image. At breakfast, for example the tables were not set properly the cutlery had not been dipped and polished before setting the tables and you had to find you own milk jug for tea there were no napkin provided, I witnessed several guessed begining to get frustrated as they had to help themselves, this created too many people walking around when hot tea coffee,breakfast being served.
Overall: I did enjoy my stay at the hotel, please see the above comment as a suggestion for improvement. The hotel is a lovely building which could do with a freshen up and properly trained staff to enhance their potential. (108502324)
The staff were very polite,friendly and helpful
I had booked a double room but ended up with a twin room.The bath felt very unsecure when taking a shower,it was creaking and moved alittle.

We went with another couple. We both booked through the internet. Their bill was quoted as £210 but were only charged £180 plus food bill. We were quoted £230 for the same facilities. I did not know until we were at the hotel that their accomodation was £50 less than ours. If we had been getting our breakfast included I would not have minded but £50 more for exactly the same amenities is a bit much, especially as we are pensioners. I complained to the duty manager at the time and he had our food bill transferred to his account, which was very kind of him. However I feel that we should be informed on the internet that we could be paying much more than someone else. We normally book through easy-break but we could not get a booking through them on the internet. We ended up paying £16 more that our friends but decided not to take any further action because of the kindness of the duty manager. However I do not know if we will stay at the Station Hotel in the future. I have alwas enjoyed staying there during the bowling finals at Ayr, but I will think twice next year
Overall: Feel that the hotel is not as good as in previous years. Can't answer the questions below as I will have to think about it a bit more. It appears that I have to answer these questions, so I will say yes but as I said before I will have to think about it. (107424855)
We were not informed on arrival on Wednesday afternoon that breakfast would be served later on Saturdays, this meant that we had to go to our event without any thing to eat which affected our performance.
