Rooms are now dated! and need upgrading!

Overall: I have stayed before so i knew what I was buying! Again rooms need serious work to bring them up to standard! I would only use this Hotel again if it were convienient  (1641930)

Nice appearance, especially the pictures on the walls.

Smmoking room against preference, no biscuits, poor pillows

Overall: It would have been nice to know prior to our arrival if we had received a non smoking room or not, we very much liked the overall appearance of the hotel and the way it was decorated. Although we were aware before we arrived that our room would not have a window, neither of us had experienced a room like it before. Although waking up at 9am it felt like 3am, took us a while to wake up properly, this is ofcourse not a criticism, merely a comment.  (1674302)

Hotel presentation was excellent as were staff. All amenities were close.

We had booked a budget double room - found the bed sheets 'grubby' looking and shower curtain useless. Also, didn't really realise no window meant no air! Air conditioning not good.

Overall: As previously stated, the air conditioning in a room with no window was poor, which meant the room was far too hot. The shower curtain sticks to you as you shower which is no good and subsequently left the bathroom floor wet which could have caused an accident. I found the room service very expensive. A fridge would have been useful as with the room being so hot there was no way to cool drinks.  (1568456)

very clean, friendly staff, impressive building. highly recommended.

Overall: Myself and my fiance booked a £39.50 room without a window on the indide of the building and i was a little apprehensive as to the standard we could expect in Manchester city centre for this kind of money but i was very, very pleasantly surprised, the room was nicely furnished, had all the extras you would expect and did even have a little skylight window. The hotel itself was lavishly decorated and nicely kept, and the staff were lovely. If we return to Manchester we will definately be staying in this hotel.  (1562985)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
