well-decorated room, close to where I needed to be. car park almost empty so no problem with parking (which can sometimes be a problem at this hotel)

I stay in this hotel 10-12 times a year normally (for several years). I was allocated a recently refurbished room. For the first time I may consider staying somewhere else next time. My room smelled of vomit (clearning staff had obviously left window wide open to remove this smell which meant that it was also cold. I had requested a smoking room but despite very few guests none was available because only part of the hotel was 'open'. The shower tray 'overflowed' but as I was in the shower and needed to leave for a meeting I was unable to ask for help at the time and had to abandon washing my hair. At breakfast tabkes were not laid properly and it seemed I had to request everythng (a spoon, marmalade, sauce)as the buffet was poorly stocked

Hotel was well placed in new walk

Very warm despite fan, walls very thin - got woken up by people walking around at 3am because the floorboards were so loud!

Overall: Ok for the price we bagged on activehotels.com! Do not book direct  (108398185)

All the staff were polite, attentive and helpful, apart from the 5 minute wait at reception before someone arrived. We didn't have dinner in the hotel but did have breakfast which was good. I was given a dble instead of a twin and although a twin wasn't available the receptionist did go out of his way to find a solution for my son and I.

The wait for service on arrival. Bedroom was huge and adequate but the decor was tired. The hotel itself is like a warren, dark with narrow corridors, numerous stairs and different levels. A nightmare for anyone with any disability - make sure you book a ground floor level.

Overall: The stay was adequate for our needs, but the bedroom was tired and needed revamping. The bathroom although very large was furnished with a very cheap bath and shower (something you would pick up at B&Q)We paid £50 through Priceline for room only, breakfast was £10 each and if I'd paid the full price I would have been very disappointed  (108620284)
