The receptionist was cheerful, very helpful and very pleasant. I apologise for not noting her name.

The staff were all very helpful and polite.Amy who served at the bar was especially helpful...well done Amy.The breakfast was impressive and plenty of choice to suit all appetites.

Good location; beautiful building; very helpful staff; free up-grade offered to double room much appreciated; a reasonable evening meal and breakfast on two days.

Small number of staff on duty meant for some delays in getting attention of staff but compensated for by friendly approach. Very modern feel to an old building - would have loved some period detail - but very welcoming and warm and a very enjoyable stay at a reasonable price.

Worn Carpets, dated decoration, inadequate plumbing, no lift, low technology.

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
