The restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful.
The bed was very comfortable.
The bathroom was good.
The reception area is very poor and drab looking and the receptionist on arrival was rather brusque. The general decor was very dated and in poor repair. The lift smelt extremely musty. The carpets throughout were going threadbare. Our room was very poor - the ceiling was falling in, the walls were affected by damp, the carpet was very dirty and worn, a general feeling of neglect and badly in need of a complete overhaul and redecoration. The bar had run out of Baileys on the 2nd night - very poor management.
Overall: As previously stated, the hotel is in dire need of a complete refurbishment. It's very dated, doesn't smell good because of the damp and has a neglected atmosphere. We were very disappointed with the condition of the whole hotel. The reception is dire. A very disappointing stay. (107457954)
