The hotel was very comfortable and the staff pleasant and helpful. The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. The breakfast was of a high standard with lots of choice. The hotel is very well located close to beach, shopping and restaurants.

We chose to stay at the Grand as it had leisure facilities which upon arrival we found were closed which was a great disappointment as this was the main reason for our choice of hotel. Although we spoke to the manager on duty with regard to this he was not very helpful - we feel that he could have been more apologetic and a list of leisure facilities in the area would have been helpful as we then had to research ourselves and not knowing the area we were uncertain of the best ones to attend. Although our room was very comfortable it was also very dark which was not pleasant - as the windows were frosted we had no view and had no idea of what the weather was like until we were actually in the foyer - this was obviously to disguise an unsightly view which I know cannot be helped but I just wanted to point this out.

Overall: We all enjoyed our stay although initially we were disappointed upon discovery of the leisure facilities being closed.  (108124582)

The elegance of the building, the position, excellent breakfast buffet. Pleasant bar area with a pianist to entertain.

Some decor a little tired. The check in staff were not as efficient as one would expect. £3.50 surcharge for paying by credit card seems somewhat petty compared with the overall bill. The en-suites were not in keeping with the rooms, a little on the cramped side

Overall: A very pleasant afternoon and evening with far ranging views over the pier and promenade. The duty manager was very helpful, the check in staff were poorly organised and seemed inefficient. Breakfast was very good apart from the number of small children present and the noise they created (this is the parents fault rather than the hotel)  (107539192)

Our check-in was not until 1500 but the staff very kindly took our luggage off of us before and it was in our room by the time we checked in. Express check-out was also a good idea to avoid long queues at the end of our stay.

Overall: Overall experience was excellent. Had a beautiful room with a balcony and sea view and a newspaper was delivered to our door as requested. Very clean hotel and staff were always obliging. Plus they do a wicked Pimms! The gentleman playing the piano created a sense of calm. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Wish I could have stayed longer.  (107648771)
