We paid a little extra for a bigger (more superior) room and it was certainly worth it. We had stayed at the hotel before and had a perfectly adequate but small room.

Overall: Very good hotel in perfect location for the Leas Cliff Hall.  (108279873)

Exceptionally clean room, greated by chocolates on pillow. Since we were leaving early every day(before 7), a packed lunch was waiting for us outside our room every morning in lieu of breakfast. Simply cannot fault the friendly staff and location - 4* service, 2* price

Stairs were a bit of a climb...but you have to keep fit somehow

Overall: Would recommend to anyone looking for a cheap, central place to stay in Folkestone  (108957977)

5.0 / 5 5.0 / 5 Naomi [Putney, GB] on 18/10/2009 (Solo business traveller)

Clean, quiet, good water pressure in shower. Helpful staff and nice to be able to have takeaway breakfast option. Good location.

No wireless internet.

Overall: Really good. Would definately stay again. Good Value for money.  (108474825)

Staff very friendly

Old hotel in need of some love - a suspicious damp patch under the bay window. Loud disco bar attached to the hotel until 1.00 at night. Check in through the bar - fine as long as the bar is not busy.

Overall: Ok for the money  (107855711)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
