Took forever to check out (I was first guest in the morning)

Overall response was good

When I arrived at reception to check-in, my room was not ready, which was fine as we were early. We then attended the wedding and reception of Hannah Reeves and Steven Bloomer. When we returned to the hotel I advised the gentleman at reception desk that I had tried to check-in earlier but the room was not ready and could I please have my room now. The gentleman then replied with ‘well I need your name don’t I? ‘‘. I found this abrupt response rather rude, should he not have said ' can I have your name please?' Surely if I would have just given my name, that he would have asked what my query / question was? So I felt to explain my situation first was more appropriate. Maybe the gentleman at reception assumed I was drunk after returning from the wedding, but I was totally sober as I am 3.5 moths pregnant and just wanted to sleep without the stress I faced during my check-in process. I do appreciate the gentleman was probably faced with a few drunken people that night, including my partner, after the rude response I received, but I fail to see why I was faced with this rude and abrupt response?

Staff were helpful, room was clean but basic .Would recommend this hotel, Grounds well kept and pleasant

The bathroom was a little jaded to be honest ,we stayed in room 201 but this didn't detract from our stay,The Spray outlet needs tightening but hey if thats all i can moan about it cant be that bad !!!

Overall: Bar staff helpful, no rush to get us cleared from the garden after our party meal ,felt the doors could have been opened as the band wasn't playing early in the evening before we went in for dinner but apart from that everything was fine  (107618250)
