Location, Good size rooms, reasonable price

Had to insist on coffee being served in the lounge at 9.45pm when told the machine was switched off.

Close to Stephen Joseph Theatre and railway station. Close to the sea front.

Quite expensive for an average 3 star hotel.After returning to the hotel after the theatre at 10 pm with friends also staying at the hotel We were told no hot drinks could be served in the bar after 10pm as the coffee machine had been switched off. When my wife questioned this, another member of staff agreed to provide 3 cups of instant coffee and an Earl Grey tea bag! The charge for this was £8.60. Although this was our 3rd stay in this hotel we were not welcomed at all even though we had written a letter to them a few weeks before reminding them of this and stating how much we were looking forward to our stay.The room decor was also too traditional/old fashioned for our taste.

Overall: just O.K. but we will probably stay again due to its location near the Stephen Joseph theatre.  (107643652)

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
