TV in our room was not tuned in very well and there was no remote for the TV

Overall: Average stay would look elsewhere first if I was to stay in Edinburgh  (1485521)

room good for our purposes, good beds and 2 pillows rare. Good breakfast plenty to eat and good quality.

furniture was looking tired in room. No raditor in bathroom removed off wall. Bar food on menu in bar not fully explained ie times avaliable for evening food. and no choices of quick snacks ie bowl of chips etc.

Overall: overall good hotel ideal for murrayfield we went to an ice hockey game, also great for going in the city bus stops close by. Value for money hotel.  (108314268)

Best nights sleep in a hotel that I can remember. Huge bath! ideal for people my height. Friendly and helpful staff. Wine at reasonable cost.

I unfortunately did not have a great experience in the restaurant, but the staff remedied the problem and I was not charged for the meal. There was no customer comments form available.

Overall: This is a great hotel and I believe the problems I experienced this visit, were a "one off". Parking can be a problem, but then that applies to the whole of Edinburgh!  (108250921)

The hotel was in an excellent position for attending the event at Murrayfield. The room was clean and well sized for our needs

Rate was quite expensive for one night (£140)and even though this included breakfast - the quality of breakfast was very poor. Could not get a drink on returning to hotel after concert as it was open to the public and bar was too busy. Staff would not bring anything to the room despite us being guests.

Overall: It served it's purpose  (107427189)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
