Overall: The Hotel were not expecting any guests, and weren't aware of my booking until they checked their fax machine, but they made every effort to accomodate me. They couldn't provide an evening meal due to a large Christmas party event, but I would normally go into town anyway, so it was no real hardship, and they were willing to arrange transport into town. As the dining room wasn't available for breakfast, I was served breakfast in my room, and it arrived at the arranged time, and was excellent. As my arrival was unexpected, I thought the staff did very well to ensure my stay was enjoyable, at a difficult time of the year for the Hotel, and the staff. Breakfast.
As a single woman I did not feel comfortable staying in a separate room away from the main building, even if it was across a courtyard. The path down to the room from the car park round the back was very dark. I would have preferred to park the car nearer to the room.
