Convenient location, close proximity to transport and restaurants etc.

Elevator was incredibly slow, but it was understood that a new elevator was to be installed in the short term. As experienced throughaout the UK, no airconditioning. The room was hot and stuffy, requiring the window to be opened which of course meant traffic noise.

Overall: Reasonably comfortable and pleasant.  (107487612)

3.1 / 5 3.1 / 5 David [Orleans, Ontario, CA] on 02/06/2009 (Mature couple)

The location of the hotel was convenient to the London Underground (Earl's Court). The continental breakfast was more than adequate. The room size was acceptable and the price was affordable.

As commented by hotel staff in response to an e-mail I sent them about my issues...the hotel (building) is old and the squeeky floors are "part of the character". The character of this hotel was lost on our last night's stay between the hours of approximately 11:00 pm until 1:30 am as another hotel guest in a room close to our seemed content to bang and crash around his room and from 4:30 am until 6:00 am either this same guest or another continuously paced across the squeeky floors. While the occasional squeek may add character to the hotel, one and one half hours of loud, steady squeeks does not make for a restful sleep. The gentleman who checked us out was not pleasant at all. He never asked how our stay was.

Overall: Never, never again.  (107563115)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
